LG iPhone camera module factory closed after first coronavirus case
seanismorris said:South Korea wouldn’t have been my guess to where the virus would spread, and be having the worst time after China. This just tells you how vulnerable even the most advanced countries are.
I wasn’t that surprised about Iran, they don’t seem to have the medical infrastructure to deal with this. Italy is a small surprise, but they probably have an aging population (who are particularly vulnerable).
People are responding to the President’s words that the virus is a hoax. I see them repeating it all over social media. I hope the people in charge are saying one thing, but preparing like mad behind the scenes...
I haven’t purchased a mask yet, but every time someone says hoax my buy finger gets twitchy.
Globalization is big. SARS took 120 days to spread to the extent it did, and that time allowed responses to be developed. For Covid19, that spread was 10 days, 30 days to become global.

Why did Apple buy up another $20B in stock at record highs?
gmgravytrain said:While I'm not complaining about the share gains I have received from Apple since 2004, I'd just like to point out that Apple's dividends are only 1% and that seems rather low from a company always talking about cash neutrality. Even Microsoft is giving out higher dividends than Apple and has to give out about 3B more shares worth than Apple every quarter. If buying back shares are really helping shareholders, then that's fine but you look at Boeing and although it's struggling, that company gives out far higher dividends than cash-flow king Apple. I would think Apple could afford to give out a $1 a share in dividends than just $0.77. That would keep me flush every quarter as a senior citizen without having to touch my social security checkIf Apple doesn't want to give out a higher dividend then why don't they acquire a cloud computing business since Wall Street claims the CLOUD has unlimited growth potential and they endlessly praise every company that has a cloud service such as Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon. Those companies get such fat P/Es based on their cloud services while Apple only gets criticism about falling iPhone sales. -
Health records firm Epic, some 60 client hospitals urge against data sharing rules support...
Looks like commenters failed to read the article. Epic says they need 12 months to plan, 36 months to implement.
Given we're talking about health care records, it would probably be best to plan for security and implement correctly.
How many would like their health care records handled like the Iowa caucus fiasco? -

Court allows Apple's lawsuit against former iPhone chip designer
