Man jailed for not unlocking iPhone adds fuel to device search warrant debate
The issue with the warrants for unlocked digital devices is that though the issuance of a warrant requires the judge to be convinced there is probable cause that the device had information on it that would aid in the present case, the digital device contains vast information, not related to the initial arrest, which would allow police too broad access to a person's and their contacts' information and communication.
Legally issued and executed warrants are expected to be limited in scope, and not open-ended. That is not the case with accessing digital devices.

Wisconsin governor wants to renegotiate Foxconn deal, says promised jobs unlikely

He kills any good will with China and Taiwan (where Foxconn is located) and deals are aborted.
I hope Trumpers take note. He is killing the Earth, and is a deal-breaker, not deal-maker.
As for Trump & this failure in Wisconsin, he oversold his negotiating & management skills with this project (which is typical Trump boasting going back to the election).
Fact is in the 1990s Trump had a very poor track record in keeping his businesses going.
I’m certainly not putting China over Trump but what I think this failure with Foxconn shows is that Trump is not the economic miracle worker he claimed to be.
Manufacturing is trickling back to the US. Unemployment is at a 50 yr low. Minority unemployment is at an all time low. Stock market is up nearly 50%. Unfair trade deals are being renegotiated. Wages are going up. Miracle worker? I don't know, but things are looking pretty good to me. But, let's concentrate just on Foxconn. -
Intel exits 5G smartphone modem business on heels of Apple-Qualcomm settlement
Well, Intel is only canning the 5G modem side. They’re still in the 5G industry.
Part of the negotiated agreement is Apple will delay building their own 5G chip, redirect some of those employees to other projects, QCOM agreed to Apple demand to give Apple first dibs.
Apple will also contract with Huawei to use their 5G modems in iPhones destined for China, else China will not allow Apple to sell their devices there.
