Editorial: Samsung hasn't copied Apple TV+ yet, but it's only a matter of time
The thing is Samsung generally doesn't do content. They had a music streaming service, but that is shut down. They had something for ebook reading, but that is shut down. Which is kinda crazy to think of since they sell so many phones and tablets that people use to do music and books. It's also worth noting that Samsung is pretty lousy at software. Sure they make software but it isn't well respected. Nobody brags about having a Samsung product because of its software. Ironically Samsung sells a TON of TVs so it might not be an awful idea for them to make content, but I think they also realize that LG, Toshiba and Sony are never ever going to give them space on their smart TVs for an icon. It's also worth noting that while Apple may or may not end up having Apple TV+ be more than a vanity project, the fact is even if they spend ten billion on it a year and never actually make money with it, so long as the content doesn't get a BAD reputation, then it doesn't hurt Apple because they have so much money to burn. Samsung on the other hand literally makes up 17% of South Korea's GDP... think about that for a second. I looked around to see if they own any media companies, but I couldn't tell from a quick glance at Wikipeda. But they do sell life insurance and make shipping boats. Also they already have something called Samsung TV Plus. Apparently you can watch Geek and Sundry on it.https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00061521/ I doubt you'll see Samsung create original English content. Selling content isn't going to be a big business for Apple relative to it's other stuff, and it probably wouldn't move the needle for Samsung either.

Apple launches dedicated media site for Apple TV+ shows and films

I don’t know about that.
I think people simply know what they want.
And Cook isn’t so great at knowing what people want.
He is great at making sure great hardware and software combinations deliver. The Mac, Mobile, and Wearable lineup is better than it has ever been.
the content creation/curation is where Apple will have a long learning road ahead. I am sure they will do ok. But I can’t see it really making a huge dent. The content with has-been talent, or one-sidedly political content doesn’t bode well. The content Apple chooses doesn’t feel representative of people. It’s more a niche market based on Apple leadership’s own personal morals and political feelings.
Once they get into a natural stance and have actual, compelling content, they have the potential to dominate the industry.
Right now, it’s really sad, everything is so fragmented with Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, Apple TV+, etc. etc. Would be great to have a Steve Jobs moment where everyone can be convinced to put all their wares under one roof for a fair wage and the best customer experience.I think Apple has a bit to learn about making premium content, but I also suspect that they specifically decided to target under served parts of the market. -
AirPods with biometric sensors need to be accurate - and Apple is working on that
I'm a little scared about the future shape of AirPods. For however much I wanted noise cancellation in theory, I think I realize now that I value comfort far more of the time, and I love the current shape of AirPods so damn much. I have a pair of over the ear headphones that are more comfortable if I need noise cancellation. -

Hands on with a 2019 iPad Pro model with three camera lenses
Honestly while I didn't care about the camera in my iPad Pro originally, I could see myself possibly taking photos with this new one in specific contexts. Namely if I'm in a working environment and I need to get a photo of something I'll be drawing. It's just quicker than taking the photo with the iPhone and waiting for iCloud to sync it. Plus for someone like me with a XR, I may be in a situation where I really want a particular photo that the camera system allows but my phone won't do it. It certainly won't be a random snapping while with friends photo. But there could be some use cases. It depends on how much this camera module affects the price.
