Benchmark pegs unspecified 2019 iPad at 2.49GHz with 3GB of RAM
The current iPad Air is now a much better purchase than the previous 10.5. It's got an A12 vs an A10X. And I'm seriously thinking about the iPad mini. On the one hand I REALLY wish it had Face ID because I've tried to. unlock my iPad Pro by putting my thumb on the camera so many times, but on the other hand it's got a beef SOC in the size of the mini! Apple has literally never done t his before! This makes me really hopeful to think that they'll upgrade the iPads Pro this fall too instead of doing this stupid 1.5 year upgrade cycle they've been on. If they do and I have a job I'm totally getting one. -
What to expect from the March 25 'It's show time' Apple News and streaming video event
I have a touchbar MacBook Pro from 2018 and the big feature I like about it is the Touch ID. If they added Face ID I’d be happy to have my function keys back.
I expected to hate the bar bar when I got it from reviews online. But it’s fine. I got used to changing volume and brightness differently. Most of the time I just ignore it. But if you ask me if it was worth the 500 CND it raised the price over the other models, no I don’t think it’s worrh it.
I think Apple eventually wants to make the MacBook Pro two iPads slapped together. Which might be fun if they can figure out how to let me comfortably touch type on it. But for now it is an answer to a problem nobody really had. -
Former Apple engineer claims idea for Qualcomm patent, does not seek inventor status
coolfactor said:But is there proof? Words don't mean anything without proof.
I hope Silva's testimony changes the balance in Apple's favour because this would show that Qualcomm has played dirty, stealing ideas and taking credit for them.
That said Qualcomm has already been shown being dirty AF. They’re trying to make a boat load off the iPhone even though they contributed very little to it, and what they contributed was for the purposes of Apple being able to use their chipsets. Which Apple was happy to do until Qualcomm wanted to charge them not based on the Qualcomm hardware in the phone but based on how much the end product cost.
