Apple Music rival Tidal enables 'master'-level audio quality on iPhone & iPad
I feel like the overlap of the ven diagram that shows fans of Jayz and Beyoncé with the amount of people who are dumb enough to believe they can hear the difference between a 256 kbps AAC file and these master versions is pretty small.
Heck most people don’t even own equipment good enough to hear what’s available in those files. I had no idea my music could sound as full as it does until I got my HomePod, and I have a nice pair of Sony’s higher end headphones.
If you really want an amazing listening experience, get Apple Music, and a couple HomePods and call it a day. -
Apple's 'It's show time' video and Apple News event is on March 25 at Steve Jobs Theater
I just hope they don’t announce a new HomePod. I just broke down and bought one. Part of me is also worried they might drop the price. In which case I might have over paid. But frankly now that I own it, it’s worth every penny. (Also it’s never going to stop being a great AirPlay speaker).
I’m iffy on whether or not I’ll pay for an Apple streaming service. If it’s free or bundled with Apple Music, great. But if they want me to pay 10 bucks extra for it or something like that I’ll just not buy it. I use my sister’s Netflix login, and I have a great torrent site. Frankly the UIs for most streaming services are worse than my torrent site, so why pay for them?
My sister pays for Netflix, CraveTV (canadian service), and Amazon Prime. So the whole family shares those across our AppleTVs.
I would probably enjoy a service made by Apple. But there are so many services out there I just can’t be bothered to pay for all of them. Especially when crave and Amazon both have apps designed for garbage platforms ported to the Apple TV App Store. -
'Celebgate' iCloud hack perpetrator sentenced to 34 months in prison
I think what he did with the information should be taken into account. And what he did he ought to have known would be incredibly hurtful for those involved. I honestly think three years is a low figure. I get that it was a "non violent crime" but it hurt the people involved on a really massive scale. -
Rumor: Apple to launch 'AirPods 2' on March 29, discontinue original AirPods model

Apple shipped 9.2M Apple Watch units in Q4 2018 to capture half of market, report says
Given that Apple isn't breaking out their sales there's no way for this company to do anything more than a rough guess of their sales. Everyone in our family of four has an Apple watch now, my mom, sister and I got watches when the Series 1 & 2 launched, and my sister just replaced her 2 with a 4, so Dad got a hand me down series 2. (Mom originally wanted the bigger watch so he's got one that doesn't look silly on his wrist.) I think it's worth noting that none of Apple's competitors are doing anywhere near their numbers even in these rough estimates. It's also worth noting that the top three vendors aren't using WearOS.
