  • Class action suit alleges Apple lies to customers over size & resolution of iPhone X, XS &...

I feel like arguing that anyone was "harmed" by this would be nigh impossible. Anyone who drops 1000 USD on a smartphone without researching it probably isn't harmed by it even if they regretted the purchase. And almost anyone else who buys one would look into it enough to know that the screens are rounded and there is a notch.

Also WHO DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A NOTCH!?

  • Five reasons why Apple is ending unit sales reporting of Mac, iPhone, and iPad

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did this in the hopes of driving down the share price a bit. They're already under valued. But if they drive down the share price then that means that they can buy back more shares for cheaper while it's low. Either way, I think part of this is also being done in preparation for them moving the Mac over to ARM. I suspect that they want to be able to experiment with more device form factors once they've got their own processors in everything from gigantic screened devices to watches. If they're not reporting individual units in any categories they can experiment with either lower cost or higher cost devices and see what works without having wild speculation that the success of Device X over Device Y means Apple's who strategy is going to shift in that direction. The XR, XS and XS Max were all somewhat experimental in terms of playing with new price points and seeing what's going to work. And I don't think Apple wants to give that information to their competitors or their shareholders. (And I think it's smart not to.) I'm really hoping that once they move everything over to ARM that they come out blazing with some macOS powered iMacs and Macbooks that are low cost consumer focused devices paired with beefier Pro devices.

  • Compared: buying a 13-inch MacBook Air versus a 13-inch MacBook Pro

I love my 13 inch MacBook Pro that I got this summer, but if I would have realized the iPad Pro and Mac mini were going to be upgraded the way they were, I probably would have either gotten an iPad Pro and a Mac mini or an Air and a Mac mini, they would have cost the same but I'd be less worried about taking my incredibly expensive laptop out when I go writing.

  • Apple's powerful new Mac mini perfectly suits the 'Pro' market, yet the complaints have al...

Honestly I kind of wish I wouldn't have gotten my Quad Core 13 inch this summer. If I would have waited I could have had a 6 core mini and an Air for the price.

  • Apple's new MacBook Air powered by 7W Intel 'Amber Lake' CPU

Honestly these are fantastic updates. I'm glad they came out with a few more intel machines before they fully switch over to ARM. I found it funny how they pointed out that the A12X is roughly as powerful as an Xbox One S. That's kind of insane when you think about it. I sort of Wish Apple would buy Nintendo at this point and turn them and all their studios into first party Apple game studios. (Though obviously they'd stay mostly independent. Imagine only having to buy a controller that connected to your phone and being able to play games like Breath of the Wild or Mario Odyssey? Even if they just worked out some sort of partnership to bring Nintendos games that are already optimized for an ARM processor, to Apple's devices. (It's not going to happen, but a guy can dream, I just hope Nvidea keeps working on the Tegra so Nintendo doesn't get screwed over.)

The new iPad Pro looks FANTASTIC, and I almost wish there was something wrong with my 9.7 inch Pro that I needed to upgrade it. The upgrade to the mini looks great (though I wish there were silver ones available). I kind of wish I would have held off on upgrading to one of the MBPs from this summer. I could have literally gotten an i7 6 Core mini PLUS an Air for out on the go and have had roughly the same price. (Or I could have gone with an iPad Pro for my mobile work ... dang I want one.)

It's weird having almost all the devices that Apple geeks care about upgraded at the same time. The only thing I can think of that I'd put as a don't buy right now would be AirPods though those probably won't get upgraded for another year. Almost everything else that could be upgraded has. (I guess the Apple TV 4K could get upgraded ... but to what?)
