I just ordered the best 13 inch I could (i7 16 gigs of RAM) I was seriously thinking of the 15 inch but I’ve decided for single threaded stuff this should be great, and I’m pretty sure I don’t do all that much that could saturate more than 4 cores right now. (Or over the next few years)

For me this Mac is really to get me past the first couple years of Mac in ARM. I’m looking forward to my new one arriving next week!

Would have loved Face ID but I can live. 

I hope for the next one they get rid of the mandatory touch bar. I just want FN keys since I touch type. There's no point in putting. a screen where I'm not looking. (Also I don't want to pay for the price of an Apple Watch for something I'm not gonna use) I'd be much happier if they put FaceID on the Mac, though I'd be fine with just having touch ID by itself. Also if you want to experiment with allowing direct input to a screen on a Mac, let's nuke the touch ID and instead let's let the display flip all the way back (like the windows 2 in 1s and let me draw on the screen with the Apple Pencil! You get rid of all the complaints about how macOS isn't designed for fingers by not allowing fingers. And you allow professionals to get work done with a stylus!

I think giving business to Samsung is just a bad move. Any improvements Apple helps them make can be turned around and used in their own phones. At least with displays Apple is mostly just using the best displays Samsung can make. (I'm hoping they didn't have that much involvement in helping make he panel for the X). Also it's a weird choice to buy parts from a company that makes ads actively mocking your users, and who you've still got a legal case against for them ripping off your biggest money maker.

I’ve got a.nice AirPlay speaker from Sony that also does Bluetooth. Got it more than a year before the HomePod was even announced. It’s got bug sound to it plus a 24hour battery and I really like it. My mom kept asking to borrow it so I ended up buying her one of their smaller lower end ones that’s also water proof. I’m on the fence about HomePod. I want one but I really don’t need one. I have so many speakers as it is. But I honestly think smart speakers are dumb. If I want Siri I have so many other devices for that.

I had three grand sitting in the bank during WWDC to spend on a MacBook Pro. I still have my 2011 model and I’m not happy about that. It’s really in excusable that they do t have something available by now. I really hope they have something available by October when the new OS launches. I really wish Apple would just hire more engineers to work in the Mac instead of having the same people design everything. Just keep the hardware up to date if you’re not gonna redesign it. But let me buy current gem tech damnit!
