  • US fears iPhone supplier BOE is a Chinese military company

I don’t get it. What are they saying? The Chinese government/military funds/uses Chinese made technology/equipment? The US government/DOD does the same thing. Every country does. So what’s the issue? It’s not like they can use a screen on a smartphone to spy or anything.

  • When you report bugs on iOS, some content may be used for AI training

The developer who spotted this addition criticized Apple for not including an opt-out option, saying that the only way users could opt out was by not filing a bug report at all.
If this is true it would adversely impact bug reporting. A lot of us are working very hard to not let our data be used for AI training. Now we may be in possession of an important bug report but have to violate our principles if we want to report it. Many may decide not to.  If this is true, it would be a very stupid move on Apple’s part.
Again, what’s the issue? What “principles”? You kinda sound like those vegans who just like to hear themselves talk and make themselves sound self-important.

I fail to see an issue here. What IS the issue, exactly?

  • iPadOS 19 rumored to get more Mac-like in productivity push

Hope springs eternal for these changes but Apple has long been resistant. There was similar hope for iPad OS 18, especially after the debut of the all-new Pro iPad models, but that hope died at WWDC. We'll see this year. If Apple wanted to give the iPad Pros a real sales boost, make them capable of booting into either iPad OS or Mac OS at the user's discretion, which Apple Silicon can do. In iPad OS, it works as usual. In Mac OS, you lose touchscreen capability and it operates just like a Mac, requiring the use of Magic Keyboard with the built-in trackpad. Apple could do this today. No merging of 2 very different OSes required, no need to figure out how to bring touch to the Mac, no blah, blah, blah whatsoever. Boot into whichever OS makes the most sense for your needs at the moment. Macs have been able to boot into Windows for how long?
Macs could use BootCamp only on the Intel chips, so 2006-2020.
