  • Apple wants to control every image of an apple, says Swiss fruit firm

To me it appears that Fruit Union Suisse logo shifted both more Apple like, and less Apple like at the same time. Surely more in it's width, yet it's still clearly a different shape (on it's "cheeks"). Less in the way of trying to create the sense of depth. While Apple logo can't tell whether it's purely side viewed and flat, one should assume there was no intention to draw a mask over an apple observed a little from height. While Fruit Union Suisse new logo is shifting toward this feeling. The white line clearly tells us we are observing an apple a little from height, so we can see it's upper relief - the white line.

I'm siding with Fruit Union Suisse in this. An apple is so common shape.. you can differentiate really only by depicting crippled one. WHY?

EDIT: Just one more thing.. I would be more concerned, if even way more different shape of an apple, like their previous logo, had a bite on it.. on any side! To me, bitten apple says "sin", "desire", "tasty". While un-bitten, whole apple says "fruit", "food" instead.

I must also say, that each logo have it's disruption. Apple have bite, Fruit Union Suisse logo have plus symbol. They should have not put this plus symbol clearly to the upper right corner, like where Apple's bite is. I would put it elsewhere, perhaps the center - like on the Swiss flag! This element is teasing for sure!

  • Up close and hands on with Apple Vision Pro at Apple Park

Somebody wearing a device capable of video recording, facing my direction, is like a person pointing it's phone at me. The difference is, that you can recognize the person holding the phone that way, that it's probably recording.. and you can make your choice stepping out of that space, or ask the person like what's going on. While with the person wearing headset, you can't tell. You should always assume he does.
I'm not seeing any defensible people using such device in the public space. I would be rigorously asking them to put it off, no matter how they will be proclaiming they're not recording, or object mesh scanning, or if Apple will make some green dot appearing on the exterior. And I will be as rigorous, as when I met a guy with google glass, sitting in front of me in public transport. Count with some broken, hell expensive glasses and try to sue.

Apple Vision Pro is great, impressive product, for minor community of in-house users.

  • Father of modern VR says that Apple's headset is 'so good'

I won't even try out this so good future product. I'm sure it will be amazing. I just have an exact idea, where to -live life for my own- ends and where -having my life being lived- begins. iPhone is a borderline technology already, just look at the people around you. Still I wish you all to have a great time and superb entertainment with it.

  • Apple's iPhone repair tool kit that it rents is wheeled and weighs 79 pounds

So is the "superscrew" bit the pentalobe screw? (and what's super about it?)

The big thing I notice is you can get a complete kit from fixit that includes everything you need weighs about 1/10th as much and includes the battery for less than it costs to rent this kit for a week.

My assumption is that Apple simply put all the tools used by their authorized repair centers because, unlike iFixit, they have absolutely no incentive to develop any sort of cheaper, smaller alternative methods, and for those who want to they can use the 'professional' tools.
this kit contains exactly all the tools required for excellent iphone repair, and when you use them properly, following apples own guide, you can be sure that resulting iphone will keep it’s IP68 properties, drop resistance, SAR levels, camera capture quality (alignment), etc..

for example this heavy Display press thingy distributes the pressure over all the surface evenly (it wont allow you pressing too hard, making damage), for exact time (it counts seconds and beeps for finish), it’s positioning the display precisely using proper fixture, etc..

give me a break with iFixit amateur toolkit.
