I was wondering about that. Last week, I temporarily misplaced my phone when I forgot it on top of the LAN printer at work. Tried to locate it by pinging it from my watch. Nothing happened - no sound. I tried Find My and it said my phone was at home even thought I'd been at work for several hours and had used the phone there. I retraced my steps and located my phone where I'd left it. I rebooted my phone and my watch, and the phone's location updated to show it was at work and I could then ping it from my watch. Not sure if I'd have been as lucky if I had left it someplace in public since both methods of locating it weren't working.

Still, I'm becoming increasingly frustrated by what I see as an egregious anti-American bias by various governments in the EU nowadays.

People who claim that Apple somehow has a "monopoly" are using specious logic.  Apple competes with numerous other platforms, each of which contains an ecosystem combining hardware and software.  Apple no more has a monopoly on its own software than Ford has a monopoly on the software running in its cars.

 

I'm sure having the US president go over there and call them all a bunch of deadbeats really helped.

I'm sure the German government cares about Apple's bottom line about as much as the US government cares about how profitable Siemens is.

Interesting. I remember at the time that the consensus here was that the lawsuit was only brought about because the entire US legal system hated Apple and envied it for it's success.

It'll be interesting to watch this site's editorial direction become virulently anti-Disney now that they are an Apple competitor. Looking forward to the 50,000 word DED articles excoriating Disney in the future.
