I am not sure about someone called XR is premium phone. 

Compare to 8+ 256GB price($849) to XR 256GB price($899), it differences $50.

I rather pay $50 more for A12 CPU alone.

Also bigger screen and smaller form factor is plus as well.

I wonder at this point why anyone wants to buy brand new 8+ 256GB. Even 64GB price differences $50 as well.

PPI? Who cares, Most current phone screen seems same to me. Even I use 6S+ screen brightness is around 80%. Still looks good.

Unless you looking at smartphone screen all day, you won't feel the difference base on LCD screen unless you compare 4K and 1080P.

Originally Apple told the customer for he need to pay up to $1200 is completely wrong.

It is wrong diagnostic from Apple genius bar back end technician.(even looks at the Snazylab iMac Pro vesa mount problem they create. They completely ruin the mount and not even tell the customer and he has to go back and confront them and then they admit this cause by them. Why not tell the customer while in the shop and offer they will replace the iMac pro which they damaged.)

Anyway.. 2nd battery import stuff. If that battery can be replace by Apple then Apple can say something like counter fit. But Apple refuse to fix it and not provide battery to customer or authorized service center either. So you will throw away functioning product due to Apple say so? This part is wrong doing by Apple.

Apple always claim how much they can recycle the product but functioning product to recycle due to they don't want to fix it is wrong.

If Apple willing to swap battery around $80-85 then I would replace my battery without goes to 3rd party repair shop or DIY..

Right to repair is for when Apple product no longer under Apple warranty and/or Apple refuse to fix it due to they said antique then self repair is right for owner of product.

Apple and all manufacturer should release all repair documentation and repair parts specification when they announce the product as antique and no longer in support.

You can walk in any car dealership service center and ask any parts of you car, they will sell it to you. Or any car fixing shop call dealership to ask genuine part(s), they will sell it.

However you can not buy iPhone battery from Apple shop or even Apple web site. We must pay service fee and sometimes Apple refuse to repair is normal?

I don't think 7 & 8 will sell a lot. Unless you really don't want to use face id.

These days not many people buy electric product whole cash at once. Normally 12-36 month no interest payment route taking.

If you pay monthly for X base module then you can pay 512GB model as well. Monthly cost is not that much so it does not feel much pain.

Last year X sold pretty good, Even the people and media said it is $1000 phone!!!

Apple's new X line up will save some money for manufacturing cost. Since all 3 models use same logic board and same CPU, etc....

Basically Sprint & T-mobil need to be merge. They have no choice. Sprint already losing money to even stay operational.

Without merge Sprint may fold the card within 10 years.(I think around 5 years) Specially everyone fully merge to 5G.

The current USA internet problem(regardless wire or wireless) is nothing to do with net neutrality.

Most of problem come from was your local government that not allow(or charge too much money) build new cell tower or bring in new ISP.

And another problem is population. USA is very big country and population concentrates on major state and city.

So rural area has no reason the big ISP company pay for fiber or high speed internet service. Simply they will never get the money back.

High populate city also have problem that ISP company will not put more line into building or block. because too much competition. People switching server every 2 years or so.

So if your equipment can handle 1000 connection any given time with max speed, ISP simply sign more people to it with slow down speed.(even that block has 3000 people or equipment. Because ISP think if this city has 3 ISP company then each company never get 50%. So they just make the equipment handle around 35% to maximum 40%.)

There is no winning situation for consumer. That will change when T-mobil start 5G internet for home. No more laying down line cost. As long as T-mobil and/or Sprint coverage area you living you can get the new internet service. This will shake local cable internet company and current dominant ISP in that area.

Question will be current T-Mobil and/or Sprint network can handle that connection. Time will tell.

I think year 2020 will be interesting.. More company start service 5G into home. Specially Google and Amazon. Amazon failed cell phone business but I think they restart it anytime they want.

Think about it, if Amazon Echo plus with 5G router function and each echo dot as mesh built in. you can place it anywhere you want.. Currently mesh system is expensive. But by year 2020, it will be base line. 

I think soon all smart home speaker will be replace mesh routers.
