  • Review: The iPhone XR isn't a $1,000 flagship, but isn't any less of a premium experience

I went from a 6s Plus to an 8, because I want to be able to sit down with the phone in my pocket. The XR is too big, and hopefully Apple will release smaller version by the time I will buy another one, in about 2 years. It is also heavy, and that matters with prolonged use by holding it in your hand. Things add up over time slowly I'm sure. Maybe by then they would have released an edge-to-edge SE.

  • Jony Ive explains design choices for new iPad Pro and 'magical' elements of the refreshed ...

The edges of the new iPad is what I wished the iPhone had, since the 6 came out. If that happened, all of a sudden going without a case would be somewhat possible, since the grip is much better, doesn't slide out of pocket so easy, etc. Hopefully it'll be replicated to the iPhones. I don't understand the logic Ive is explaining for finally being able to do it, because it is "thin enough" for it, in my opinion it would work for the iPhones also, with their current thinness.

  • Apple unveils all new 13-inch MacBook Air with Retina display, Thunderbolt 3 and more

    MBA:
Good: Touch ID by itself, without TouchBar. Hope it will be ported to MBPs too.
Bad: they ruined its keyboard (I noticed no one applauded when butterfly keyboard was mentioned).
Bad: 128GB SSD in this day and age (price gouging)

    Mac mini:
Funny how they stressed that it's so many times faster, than a 4 year old machine. Of course it's many times faster, duh.
What's the point of all those updates if the price is higher by $300? This means it's not a starter desktop anymore. if that's intentional, it's Apple's prerogative, but nowadays you just feel screwed by Apple more, don't feel the technology getting cheaper with time. Every time the update things they up the price too.

  • Apple discontinues sales of iPhone X, 6S, 6S Plus and SE

SE was perfect size for many people.  Hopefully they introduce something similar in the spring with updated innards.
I think if they were going to update it, they would have kept the current SE for sale. But they removed it, so they will probably not offer any replacement for it.
Maybe they wanted a complete break from that form factor, with enough space to come back and introduce something new at a similar size.
I can only wish. For me the perfect iPhone would be the same sharp edge design as the iPhone SE, but the all screen and notch of the X (what would that be, 4.7" screen?), at the same exterior size as the current SE, and keep the headphone jack. Basically give the SE the Max screen treatment, same size as the small phone, much bigger screen. That phone would sell well, in my opinion.

Sad day. Apple has succeeded convincing a lot of people that it's OK for your watch to only last one day. Reminds me when you had to wind your mechanical watch each evening, except charging your Apple watch takes longer, and maybe you have to also charge it again in the morning, to make sure you start with a full battery for the day ahead.
Sad day. Apple has convinced people that they should sleep for a few hours a night just so they can charge the watch.

    Oh, the humanity.
No, they should have their watch on their wrists to track their sleep. It's an important function.
If you've read comments about the Watch you'd know that many wearers do wear to bed to record their sleep habits. There are countless sleep apps for watchOS.
Nuanced discussion does not seem to go over too well in these forums. I was replying to Rayz2016 who was saying that people should charge their watches while they sleep.
