Jony Ive recalls how Steve Jobs taught him to say no, especially when it hurts to do it
Then I wish Ive personally felt passionately about, and said no to:
>antenna lines shape in iphone 6 and 6s.
>camera bump (use thicker battery to cover it up). Remember when he said that had the phone been thicker, less people would have used it, so the thin-ness was worth the battery life and camera bump... eyes rolling.
>iOS 7 bad design choices
>slippery aluminum phones (negates good aesthetics due to case being used), and rounded edges.
Apple design was better when Steve was around, that's for sure. He was a good counter-balance to Ive.

Google Home Mini offers affordable voice assistant, music streaming for $49
Soli said:I hope Apple comes out with a small and inexpensive version of their home-based personal digital assistant, too. -
Walmart accidentally leaks Google Home Mini ahead of Oct. 4 announcement
This Google device is not in the same category as the HomePod. You get one of these and connect it to your existing audio system for some good sound. This way you have an inexpensive voice assistant around the house, with the music it can play and everything else. The HomePod is for people who don't already have a better sound system. It's obvious from the price. But these little devices might turn out to be good trojan horses getting into homes, to expand their respective ecosystems. Apple does not and will not have a comparable device. Not saying it should or not, but it's not comparable.
