  • Amazon announces premium touchscreen $230 Echo Show, allowing Alexa to 'show you things'

This is a specialized device, an appliance for very specific uses. Apple fans should understand this better than anyone, since Apple does this also. Sure, you have Siri on your phone, but this thing stands with its microphones ready to hear you. That's a big difference. The same difference between connecting your laptop To your TV via AirPlay mirroring, or buying an Apple TV. These small convenience factors add up and are the difference between using the technology or not.

  • Apple's Siri-based Echo competitor to carry premium price, feature high-end audio with 1 w...

This is good news, except I suspect they'll want an Apple Music subscription, in which case it is not-so-good news. I won't get an Apple Music subscription, just too much money. If they'll bundle an Apple Music with iCloud storage space, and maybe something else, I might.

  • Apple drops to 5th place in LaptopMag's brand rankings after leading for multiple years

Into the 4th year on my MacBook Pro. Never made it past 2.5 years on any windows laptop. Thinking I will get 6 years or more out of this one.
too bad Apple laptops outlast Apple's support for them: they become legacy after 5 years, and you have to find your own batteries and parts for them. I have a laptop like that, still kicking, but have to use non-Apple replaceable parts. Apple doesn't support your point that they last longer. You're on your own. I also have a desktop that's still kicking ass, 11 years on, but that one is also crippled by Apple (cannot sync my Iphone 6s Plus to it, not sure why that would not be possible but it isn't). So, while I love Macs because they are solid, Apple itself undermines this quality of their hardware by crippling the software with planned obsolescence.

To the other point made, that people prefer simple over the ability to upgrade: bullshit! the only people who prefer that are Apple investors. People prefer to upgrade RAM and hard drives, without getting gauged by Apple, and without having to pay such high prices each 5 years.

Actual words are meaningless to Trump.  Nothing he says is actually an indication of a position, mindset, plan, etc.
Just like every U.S. President before him. Smoke and mirrors from them all.
Not at all.  To validate Trump by somehow comparing him to previous presidents, no matter their lies and juggling truths, is irresponsible. Current POTUS is beyond anything ever seen before. You may like the fact that he is is NOT a politician, and you may buy into his "I'm a great deal maker" schpiel, but take a few minutes and learn why he is derided by so many. You are a smart guy and nobody will know that you put aside political leanings for a moment. Look at it with the post above in mind. Also, look at what Republicans and Democrats alike say of his understanding of health care. Remember he campaigned on this.
It's not irresponsible. The same could be said about Obama. We've never seen an administration like Obama's that was full of so many scandals and lies. He just got a pass on everything in the liberal majority media. Trump didn't write the health care bill that was pulled. Replacing Obamacare is far from over.
The Obama scandals and lies were all in the right-wing propaganda echo-chambers, who were incensed that a black man was in the White House. In reality, Obama had class, and character. Trump has neither. Just think about this one example: when he left, he said: take Obamacare, put your name on it if you want, I don't care, and fix it, just as long as people get good insurance. There are many other aspects in which Obama was a gentleman. Trump does not compare to any other, and should not be normalized. He's the opposite of what a leader should be, if you would compare him to a good leader, such as Eisenhower. He takes credit for other people's work, and when he fails, he blames others. Eisenhower took others' blame, and gave the credit to his subordinates.

  • Apple replaces iPad Air 2 with A9-equipped 9.7-inch iPad starting at $329

Finally can replace my iPad 3. Price is a big issue, for most people, otherwise they will not replace something that still works, albeit slower.
