Google Pixel revealed by resellers, shows remarkable similarity to iPhone design
This design is superior to the iPhones, unfortunately. First off, HTC came out with aluminum and those antenna lines before Apple. Second, the phone has large battery, and as an added bonus, no camera bump. The iPhones since 6 are not really good designs. Apple has a captive audience because everything else, including the ecosystem. This way they can still get away with bad designs, and slippery phones which are unusable without a case. -
Apple reportedly squeezing 'iPhone 7' parts suppliers for better pricing
sog35 said:I still don't get why Apple did not do some kind of design change for iPhone7.
I'm sorry but moving the antenna lines is not enough.
People say design don't matter. But it does. People don't want to buy a phone that looks EXACTLY like a 3 year old phone (iPhone6) -
Video shows 'iPhone 7' mockups in Space Gray, gold and rose gold
Does anyone know why those white antenna bands can't match the color of the phone more closely? I understand that the phone will shine in different shades of rose gold, or gold depending on the angle, but there is a middle shade of gold, or just yellow or rose metallic or non-metallic color they could use so they are not bright white... Or maybe not? -
Alleged 'iPhone 7' chassis shows symmetrical speakers, lacks 3.5mm headphone jack
nolamacguy said:CoboRodRegas said:Disappointing if true, The headphone jack is one of the most important features to me.... Way more important than the camera... I use it hours every day in multiple locations, connected to different devices (car stereo, large quality headphones I keep at work, small ear buds I use for working out, and multiple home stereos depending on what room I am in).
No other audio interface will suffice, I am not willing to sacrifice the quality & convenience of a traditional headphone jack, I am not willing to spend hundreds of dollars to buy several dongles or spend hundreds of dollars to change my audio equipment, And I am not willing to carry a dongle with me at all times.
Its a simple, ubiquitous, quality, standard, with no peer. Its not like the floppy disk, its not like fire wire.
So if these rumors are, true my next phone will be an android.
also, being the audio guy you are, why no lightning cabled equipment? you're actually using mini phono jacks on all your living room units? and with all the moving around from room to room and car and gym, etc, I'm surprised you find the slightly better audio is worth the hassle vs just using a wireless solution for all but your most demanding uses. for me it sure ain't in the gym -- wireless headphones far outweigh somewhat better sound when I'm focused on a workout. phone stays in pocket, no wires to manage as I'm moving bars or using cardio equipment, etc. it's way, way easier. plus I only need to recharge once a week.
in any event, your use case is not mainstream. you're a fringe case. Apple doesn't build its product line around fringe cases. we'll all be sad to see you go. go luck with android and everything.
However, if the reason for all of this is to just make the phone thinner, and keep the battery life the same as it is now, sorry, you've lost me. These phones do not need to be thinner. And the battery needs to be better. -
New leaks show bigger lens opening on 'iPhone 7,' dual-lens camera on '7 Plus'
They don't look too good, and the worst part is, they do look a little better than the 6'es, because of the re-drawn antenna bands.
But this design and look was validated in Jonathan Ive's mind by how well the 6 design sold. However, it did not sell that well based on looks and thin-ness, but based on larger screen size. Too bad we have to look at this design another year generation of iPhones. If any other phone (Android) would have sported those 6 antenna lines they would have been laughed out of this discussion board. People were incredulous when they saw those 6 prototypes also. Get used it them folks, these are the next iPhone cases.
