  • Latest HomePod firmware leak indicates skiing workouts coming to Apple Watch

What's funny is that Apple is probably running the most well funded anti leaking groups of any company, yet these are the kinds of amateur fumbling their committing hilarious, but a bigger question is why is Apple releasing firm wear for products it hasn't even released yet ? If Tim had held off his over eagerness and just announce the HP with the new iPhones maybe this might have all been avoided. All this after he was crying about how leakes were hurting product potencial
Developers need time to work on associated projects. It's perhaps less important with the HomePod, but still.

  • Apple's 2017 Back to School promo offers wireless Beats with Macs & iPad Pros

Beats wireless headphones are among the worst reviewed devices on Apple's own website. Was going to get Powerbeats 3 or BeatsX, but they seem to have high failure rates.
Not to say the reviewers are wrong, but I've been using Powerbeats3s for several months during some pretty intense gym sessions. No problems so far - fingers crossed.

  • Tesla in talks for own music service, skipping likes of Apple Music & Spotify - report

    Soli said:
This seems like a dumb move. There's no way they'll ever get enough subscribers to warrant the cost of getting on-board with labels and artists or building a music service that could revive Spotify, Apple Music, or others.

I best the best method for enticing and keeping buyers is to simply have the entertainment options that buyers want. This also includes adding CarPlay and Android Autio to their systems.
If it's just a free/cheap perk for being a Tesla owner, though, it might serve its purpose. Yes, streaming deals aren't cheap, but neither are Teslas or their upgrade packages.

  • Movie studios talk $30 rentals for films still in theaters as Apple pushes for content on ...

This is only personal opinion, but I feel people suggesting movie theaters are obsolete tend to forget that many, many people have sub-50" TVs, weak sound, and/or low bandwidth, never mind the costs of buying or renting a movie as soon as it's available. Any major city should have at least one decent theater.

Even people who can afford a luxury home theater may enjoy the ritual of the theater experience - a Star Wars premiere isn't quite the same without a hundred other people clapping and laughing.

  • Confide app used by White House staff not as secure as claimed, report suggests

"Another issue is that Confide doesn't make its code public"????

That is an issue? Seriously? Does everything have to be "open source" or it's an issue?
If it's open, that can in theory make it better subject to testing and scrutiny.
