  • Apple officially announces June 5 WWDC keynote via media invitations

How about an announcement that Apple will let users run OS X on HP Workstations since it is obvious nobody at One Infinite Loop cares about anything other than mobile devices and rental services.
Didn't Apple already announce there were MacPro and displays on it's way? What's your point?

They admitted they are over a year out, which tells us the cupboard is bare.
Apple could easily let mac OS run on HP Workstations that are up to spec. They do not have to do unlimited licensing and Workstation market users are not impressed with how thin or how whatever the design is. HP is selling Xeon class workstations with Nvidia 2GB RAM GPUs for less than stopped out Mac mini.

The keys to Hackintosh vs Macintosh is the EFI and I am sure H-P could adapt their designs quickly if they could get some extra sales.

Steve Jobs first job was at H-P and Woz worked there as well. This would let Apple concentrate on skinny underpowered laptops that are fashion statements and H-P can sell the more serious hardware for people who use their computers for more than Facebook.

I have a 2010 Mac Pro and am tired of waiting.

  • Apple upgrades 2013 Mac Pros with more cores & faster GPUs

With Apple telegraphing they are abandoning this form factor and the lame specs of the speed bump, who exactly would shell out the Dollars for this thing?

Apple needs to stop trying to reinvent the wheel with each new product release. The Workstation form factor is a necessity for some and a preference for others. For once, maybe Apple can conform to industry standards and design a Mac whose purpose is not as an object of art or industrial design- but as a form follows function tool that is versatile, maintainable over more than 24 months, user upgradeable and highly reliable.

A slightly smaller version of the Mac Pro Workstation with modern internals and connectivity would be just the ticket.

  • Apple plans new iMac configurations targeting pro users for later this year

Exactly how is a glued shut, skinny iMac with soldered in memory and on board Vampire Video GPUs going to serve a Pro Market or have any shelf life?

The very all in one concept of the iMac or a laptop serves the constant churn that may be profitable for Apple, but not what more than a few want or need. The workstation form factor is still the most flexible design and that is precisely what Apple abandoned with the Trashcan and pushing people to the iMac.

I do not want cables running all over the place for external storage or external GPUs and I sure do not want all my stuff in the Cloud. The cloud is fine for many things, but not everything.

  • All-new Mac Pro with modular design, Apple-branded pro displays coming in 2018

I hope it's not back to the cheese-grater size again. That was a hefty machine that really didn't offer much upgradability for its size. The transition from that design to the compact cylindrical Mac Pro made sense as it was only a small reduction in upgradability.
Really, I have a Mac Pro that runs USB 3, has room for massive internal storage without a spaghetti bowl of cables, can be CPU upgraded in minutes, takes standard memory and can run rings around the Trashcan. The Mac Workstation design was a great job of HW engineering.
