  • Hoping to capitalize on Apple battery controversy, HTC and Motorola volunteer that they do...

What bothers me is that if the slow down was due to battery degradation then why isn’t there a way to see when the battery should be replaced? I would still be using my iPhone 6 Plus if I’d have known the battery was causing my phone to become sluggish and painfully slow in certain situtations. If the software knew the battery was dying and throttled performance to maintain battery life then why could it not notify me to get the battery replaced?

Instead I assumed iOS 11 updates had slowed it down and shortly after that my battery started only holding a charge for a few hours so I replaced it with an 8 Plus. After reading about this software throttling being linked to dying batteries I ordered a replacement and my 6 Plus was reborn! I use to get a ton of lag typing messages or switching apps. As soon as the battery was changed it preformed nearly as smoothly as my 8 Plus. Infact I gifted it to my girlfriend’s mother as it was better than the cheap android she had.

So I have no issue with Apple trying to conserve a dying battery by slowing down my phone but tell me that’s why and let me get it fixed! Don’t stay silent and let people assume they need a new phone or that Apple is trying to force people to upgrade.
It does inform you in the Battery section of Settings. If there was no warning, your phone just needed a restore from backup after updating to iOS 11.
Where in the Battery section does it tell you the health of your battery? I don't see it.

  • Video: iPhone X vs Note 8 - Real World Comparison after 1 month

I would like to start out by saying I just signed up to post this. I have read this site for many years and have never read comments till today. I was curious about what people thought of this article. Interesting to say the least.
I have owned every I phone but the first and the 8 and x. The first three I had to have Att and Verizon because I was a Verizon customer. I have enjoyed all of them.
I have owned many android. Moto, Samsung, Htc and Lg. They have vastly improved over the years. I have enjoyed using them too which some more than others.
Now to get to my point. Everyone will like what they like. My issue with this article is it was biased on his opinion. I have I phone 7plus and a note eight I use daily. I love both phones. Apple has messed up my phone with 11 and it is just now getting close to where it was. It had been a while since I had lag on IPhone but 11 did it. My note has no lag at all I have had it for months. My hands are big and the phone is perfect for me.
People need to realize that are own bias affects how we feel about things. For me my 7 is not less than the new ones. Not worth the investment. I have 256 gb jet black. Beautiful phone. With the update Apple took away my favorite wall papers. I am still pissed about that. I have black note 8 with 256 gb card. Beautiful phone.
This is a wonderful site. I come here to get all my apple news but they could have just not done this article. To me it wasn’t done fairly. I hope what ever phones you own that you enjoy them as much as I do mine. I have spent way too much money over the years but it is like a hobby for me.

Well, the title does highlight "Real World Comparison after 1 month" so one would expect it's about the user's experience and not just specs and features. Hard not to be more subjective than objective in that case, no?

  • Giant lines forming at Apple stores internationally in advance of iPhone X sales

Why are lines forming for the iPhone X?  I'm certain a few genius analysts had said, "No one will be paying $999 for an iPhone when you can get an equivalent flagship Android smartphone for almost half the price." "Also, consumers are scared of using Face ID because it's a relatively new technology and they're never going to buy an iPhone without Touch ID?" "Everyone hates that monstrous notch which is causing Steve Jobs to turn over in his grave." "No mere mortal can afford to pay that much money for a smartphone!" /s

Have consumers stopped using credit cards? Although analysts and big investors are quite worried about Apple's gloomy future, I'm sure every iPhone X in stock will be sold out by the end of the day. It's rather unlikely any flagship Android smartphone this year will sell out as quickly. In the end, an iPhone X is still an iPhone and will likely sell in the tens of millions of units and as fast as Foxconn can turn them out.
It's cuz they're all just sheep buying whatever Apple's marketing tells them to buy, because Apple.  /s

  • Face ID on iPhone X is just as fast, if not faster, than Touch ID

Will FaceID work, when the iPhone is mounted at the dashboard of the car? My phone is not mounted directly in front of me. It is about 30 centimetres on the side. I can easily unlocked it with my finger. I assume, that this would no more possible with FaceID.

I am planning to upgrade from my iPhone 6 Plus. Probably I will go for a iPhone 8 Plus, instead the iPhone X...
Another useful feature of FaceID is that drivers like you won't be able to play with their phones while driving!

  • Apple's iPhone X passes twin test in early hands-on with Face ID

CNN did a test with two identical female twins and they were able to beat the Face ID security.

    That's because they're both "10s".   ;-)
