  • AT&T to lean on 'iPhone 7' promotions to temper subscriber decline, analyst says

I had been with AT&T since 2007 with the original iPhone (bought it 2nd day after release). I had 5 lines, 2 iPhones with unlimited data and 3 dumb phones. I really thought I would never give up my unlimited data, but once they sent me a letter last year about price increases, I finally had enough. I left them in February for T-Mobile and now I have 5 iPhones with 10GB data per line and my bill is only $180 per month compared to $230 before on AT&T. I had never used over 5GB per month anyways so I figured 10GB would be plenty. In terms of coverage, its been more or less the same since I live in a major metropolitan area, but I hear it may be worse for those who live further away from the big cities.

Another big plus for me was being able to use the phone overseas without any extra charges. I just came back from 3 weeks in Europe and wherever I went, as soon as the plane landed, I would be connected to a network and be able to use data (for free!). It's a damn great thing to have since I travel overseas a couple of times a year.
