Why would they? No other company sells these products, and they can drag out iterative development for years. Magsafe in two years? People will buy it. I have been waiting for the perfect mac since 15 years. It won't come. Mac Mini 'pro'? They will make it nicer but not great, but there will not be a much better within two years, so you'll buy. They could have made a mini-ITX box with parts that would have served - a lot - of people, but they will happily sell you slightly gimped macs. It's smart business, I hate it, but I have no choice. My hackintoshes were absolute beasts but I'm done with tinkering so I'll settle for a sub-optimal new mac and be done with it.

Hopefully Apple will take a harder line with clones and copycats. There are still SO MANY in the store it's unbelievable, and most of them with absolutely scammy subscriptions. And if 20 random twitter users can point them out, so can the people currently failing at curating.

How many Windows users have an iPhone? Makes no sense to do that.

It's also a very easy thing to prevent from happening during the design of these systems. Why even allow 500k characters??
