  • First look: Mac Pro and Apple Pro Display XDR [u]

It’s hilarious to read how misunderstood this product is.

  • Apple Music links shifting away from iTunes domain, further signaling death of app

This wouldn’t be concerning to people if Music wasn’t 10x worse than iTunes.
    Vox is a great alternative.
What are you talking about? Both music & iTunes are fine.
No they aren't. Music is awkward as all hell, and iTunes is in such rough shape Apple is putting it out of its misery.
For those who think it's fine... you've just grown accustomed to them. Try some others so you can at least be objective.

I expect they will have redesigned iTunes for desktop.
Doesn't matter much to me anymore as I've gone the streaming route and have my iTunes library integrated into Bluesound.
Tidal, Spotify, iTunes, Tunein, online radio... everything in one location.

The only reason to open iTunes these days is to load an old iPod with songs or backup photos off the phone.

You’re off in left field by yourself. The design of the new Music app for Mac that replaces iTunes has already leaked.  The new TV app is another part of the replacement for the video side.

  • Review: 2019 13-inch MacBook Pro -- ultimate refinement without revolution

It’s still amazing to me that Apple has managed to ship a keyboard on its flagship Mac for 3 years now that not only is inherently flawed and prone to defect, but is just completely miserable to type on.

Meanwhile, they also make one of the best keyboards to type on that I’ve ever used, the current gen Magic Keyboard.

One needs only to alternate between using these two to know that one is what a keyboard should be and the other is a compromised imitation of it, hampered so by other design desires for size and weight on the portable product.

As someone who regularly does switch between the two, using an iMac all day for work and then a MacBook Pro when away from the desk, it is a huge downgrade in experience when moving away from the iMac.  It wasn’t always this way. I’m not alone in thinking that Apple made poor choices and trade-offs for the current design of the MacBook Pro. And I’m not talking about removing ports, unifying that into a single do-everything port was inevitable and practical.

  • Apple releases updated $199 iPod touch with A10 Fusion, up to 256GB of storage

I'm surprised they put an old A10 in it. Usually they put their best CPUs even in the low-end stuff so it can stay on the shelf longer. Very, very nice to see that they're staying committed to small screens, this means at least the next four releases of iOS will continue to support the 5-series screen size.
The A10 is still being made by Apple for use in several products. This is simply an economies of scale update, to replace the chip they are no longer making in any volume with  one that they are.

  • Screenshots show iOS 13's Dark Mode, new Reminders app

    2. Will they please please start showing Reminders on the Calendar. Then I can finally ditch Fantastical.
    Try Calendars 5. Great app.
I don't want a 3rd party app for Calendar/Reminders. Too low level. I expect the device to handle it natively, for the best possible features and reliability, and no-effort syncing between iOS and macOS. No 3rd party app has been able to provide what Apple can. Part of that may be Apple's doing, but it is for good reason.
