Some Slight Changes to the Forums
StrangeDays said:On removing Dislike - "too frequently used to dogpile reasonable posts when they didn't line up with a segment of the forum's point of view, whether that be a reasonable criticism of Apple"
...sounds like a shield for trolls. Not enthusiastic about this. Why make a negative judgment about people downvoting what they feel are low-value posts? How does that harm the discussion and thus AI's numbers?
It is the same kind of safe-space protect-my-feelings regressive hippie nonsense that has gone on with Disqus and other failed jokes on the internet.
This place just got a lot less interesting, now that forum and the ratings for comments NO LONGER reflect the feelings of the community at all. -
Apple retailer claims 2-3 month delay for W1-equipped BeatsX

The problems are in mass manufacturing. Period. -
Apple retailer claims 2-3 month delay for W1-equipped BeatsX
smiffy31 said:the same as the oft-delayed Apple AirPods
They have been delayed exactly once up till now, how is that oft ?
What's with all the doom and gloom its a pair of headphones. People are making out that this is a catastrophic failure, as usual they are working till they are as near to their idea of perfect as they can. Everyone who has tried a pair has said they work great, so this is almost certainly a production problem. Companies who do not have to produce millions of anything to not be called out for creating a deliberate shortage and are willing to use their end users as testers obviously don't have this problem.
Also, missing the Christmas holiday for a affordably priced gift/accessory like this is a massive failure of management. It is very telling. -

Nintendo's 'Super Mario Run' for iPhone requires a persistent internet connection for play
Apple can't be too happy with a public statement from Nintendo that they need their game to be online because "iOS App piracy" is allegedly a problem.
It exists, but in a microcosm. Also, I read the actual transcription and it was the translator's interpretation that it was about piracy, while Miyamoto was emphasizing cohesive experience across modes and security.
