The 'For All Mankind' universe is about to get a whole lot bigger
Personally, I'm excited for this if it's true. For All Mankind has been one of my favorite AppleTV+ shows these past 4 seasons and would love to see Star City go back to the beginning of the space race and show us what the Soviets went through to be first on the moon and how that affected the space program and country as a whole. In US TV shows we always paint Russia/USSR as the enemies, and seeing how they view the US as the enemy from their POV could be pretty interesting and make for lots of water-cooler discussions. -
Apple TV with a camera is the rumor that will never die
To me, an AppleTV with a camera built in doesn’t make sense, as most people try to hide the AppleTV box behind the tv or in a place that isn’t conducive to having a camera strapped to the front of it. I’m still waiting for someone at Apple to read these forums and build a HomePod/Soundbar hybrid that has an AppleTV box already built into it. Small screen on the front for the time/track/channel information and place to visualize Siri, and sure, you could put a camera in there like a Dynamic Island. Most people mount the soundbar below the TV on the wall or just below the TV on a shelf, so having a camera there would make sense for FaceTime calls. Throw in a wireless subwoofer for good measure (and an additional $199) and you can certainly count on taking my money. -

Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone 18 years ago
The craziest part of that WHOLE announcement was the way the audience reacted to it all.
Today we’re announcing not one, but THREE best in class products.
A widescreen iPod with touch controls (huge applause)
A breakthrough internet communications device (ehhhh ok)
A mobile phone (massive applause)
Then he describes how they're all one device…
“An iPod, a communicator, a phone. An iPod, a communicator, a phone. Are you getting it yet? It’s not three separate devices, it’s one device. And we call it iPhone.”
And people went nuts. But what NOBODY at the time knew, was that the ‘breakthrough internet communications device’ was the part that would completely change the world. -
If you want blue iMessage bubbles that much, buy an iPhone
RayshardT said:The point that Messages is the default and can't be changed is a valid argument for being anticompetitive in the iOS messaging ecosystem because it's makes it such that you can't fully switch to a different messaging app. A different messaging app that can process SMS/MMS should be able to be the one stop shop for such data but Apple forcing users to use Messages which does nothing to make the SMS/MMS experience better. Even though SMS/MMS is an outdated technology, other apps could provide better user experiences. For example, in Google Messages on Android, emoji reactions on SMS are intercepted and displayed in a more friendly way. Another example would that another SMS/MMS app would inform the user to send a video via link instead of MMS to preserve quality.
