  • 'iPhone 15' will get in-screen Touch ID, 'iPhone Fold' arrives in 2024 says Ming-Chi Kuo

I dont understand why people are so eager to bring touchID back. Its certainly not more secure than FaceID and its not faster than FaceID either. The only reason I could think to bring it back is some sort of double authentication process to get your Drivers License, healthcare record or other super sensitive information to pull up from the secure enclave. First you have to authenticate with FaceID then confirm with touchid?  Just seems cumbersome to me.

And now that we have solved the FaceID with mask issue by using Apple Watch, TouchID is really not needed. I cant imagine too many people with an iPhone DONT have at least a Series 3 if they wanted an apple watch at this point.

  • Apple reveals first states to use Apple Wallet for ID, driver's licence

    Xed said:
    1) Most of those aren't the states I'd have thought would be first to support digital IDs.

    2) Even once this is enabled by the TSA the inconsistency of the TSA across airports will have me bring a physical ID with me for a very, very, very long time. Good as a backup, I guess.
Same. Never would have thought Arizona would be first in line. I live in Phoenix and it shocked me to read that. I’m excited for this update as it will allow me to carry one less thing around with me for every day errands. For traveling ill bring my ID as a backup for sure. The only thing keeping me tied to a physical wallet was the ID in case I got pulled over or it was needed as verification for an online order pickup. 98% of the stores I frequent use Apple Pay (the major exception being stupid Frys/Kroger) so carrying around just my phone/watch would be perfect. My major gripe is how long its going to take me to stop panicking that I’ve left my wallet somewhere and then remembering its just at home. Haha.

  • Redesigned AirPods coming in 2021, revamped AirPods Pro in 2022

So… If I as a very happy user of current AirPods Pro I could be standing next to someone apparently wearing same but actually wearing a cheaper version (and IMHO inferior because they’ll be lacking some of the features I love about my AirPods Pro…). I’m not a wearable tech snob but I’ll definitely be unhappy when the feature-light/cheaper version is released because the person wearing them will be getting the same admiring/envious glances from people who can’t/won’t spend the money Apple charge for AirPods Pro! Same with my Apple Watch Series 6 44mm Cellular, I’m sick of folks saying “aah, so you’re in to Fitbit watches are you!?”… I want to scream “no, this isn’t a fu**ing piece of Fitbit shi*, I wouldn’t enter a competition if that was the only prize… This is an Apple Watch you moron, a REAL smart watch that is worth every penny I paid for it! 🤣    👱🏻‍♂️❤️👁📱 & 🍎 ⏱
Or...and bear with me on this one...people like me who have both regular AirPods and the Pros... just prefer the fit and comfort of the regular ones. Sure, the Pros sound better, but they hurt my ears when I wear them too long. I can wear the regular ones almost all day with no problems, Pros only last about 30 minutes before making my ear canal sore.

  • M1 iMac teardown reveals massive speaker chamber, Magic Keyboard Touch ID sensor

"A lot of impressive engineering went into making this thing as thin as possible, but did anyone really need a thinner all-in-one desktop? Apple's priorities continue to baffle," the site wrote.
This statement coming from a website solely dedicated to selling repair/replacement parts and tools. Yeah, OF COURSE it baffles you.
