Masimo has spent $100M in Apple Watch patent infringement fight

Apple is a bully, just face it. Pretty much always has been, even (or especially) under Jobs. Microsoft and Google are still worse though. They have a legit business that rides on this. From products to licensed tech.A troll does nothing except sue whenever someone does anything remotely close to what their patent covers. In Masimos case, they are defending patents DIRECTLY infringed by Apple that harm their business materially. It’s a legit fight. Apple needs to do the honorable thing and license the tech or go about glucose monitoring in a way that doesn’t infringe. -

Apple and Goldman Sachs to part ways on Apple Card, no successor named

Imagine you're a retailer and all your customers come in on the 1st, leaving you with no customers days 2-30. It's unreasonable of Apple to have G.S. have to handle an onslaught of bills just one day of the month and not be willing to spread them out. As an Apple Card customer, I'd be fine having mine not be on the 1st, but Apple has never bothered to ask. -

Google's RCS messaging is coming to iPhone in 2024

It would have been better if Apple had taken part in the design of the standard, but this is good. Much better than being forced as with USB-C, right-to-repair, and soon AppStore alternatives.
Last I recall reading, Google Messages has nearly a billion active users now, so they're doing OK.Google is obviously not doing “ok” since they’ve been crying in the press for years now over Apple’s blue bubbles and Android market share in decline.
So here it is 6 months later, and a billion active users is almost certainly on the low side. Not too shabby for a service that's not yet available in every country.
Apple likely saw even better iMessage uptake because it's a basic feature of the iPhone and they sell so many iPhones.
