Google Chrome to emulate Apple's Safari ad-tracking privacy ethos
EsquireCats said:It's slightly disingenuous because Chrome ties in with Google's "web history" feature (which feeds your browsing history into their own data aggregation systems). So basically this just blocks *other* data aggregators (e.g. facebook), meaning only Google can do it.
Apple's Safari on the other hand doesn't building tracking information whatsoever. The history feature in Safari has no secret secondary function, it's for the user and only the user. That's what Ars Technica is saying. Chrome itself will be the tracker now, not the cookies/tracking files (from the advertisers). Then Google will feed the advertisers your browsing info. -
Apple-Kia partnership not dead yet, report claims

https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/apple-partner-foxconn-to-form-ev-partnership-with-fisker-1.1567958The part many miss is that an EV has far fewer moving parts -- actually, it has far fewer parts -- than the old ICs.And, many of the rest of the parts (like brakes, wheels and tires, suspension parts, etc) are pretty industry standard and can be obtained from third parties. The original founders of Tesla said that they had planned to buy door handles and such that way but the problem they ran into was that, although they were available to buy, their volumes were too low to attract suppliers. But, a company like Foxconn in a country like China probably would not face such restrictions.I suspect that autos and auto manufacturing will be turned on its head over the next couple decades. Here is one that could do that. When was the last time you paid less than $5,000 for a new car?A budget electric vehicle (EV) selling in China for $4,500 (£3,200) is now outselling Tesla's more upmarket cars.https://www.bbc.com/news/business-56178802Would you drive this car on normal roads/highways in the US or EU? Perhaps it could be classified as an NEV.

SuperMicro server spy chip story returns, with no more proof than before
GeorgeBMac said:bulk001 said:GeorgeBMac said:bulk001 said:Do I believe Appleinsider or Bloomberg that China is attempting to use every possible means to spy on Americans, steal our data and IP? Mmm. Even if the finer details are in question when I look at their spying on their own citizens, their murderous treatment of Uighurs, the suppression of democracy in Hong Kong etc. and the idea that China is not trying every possible means to subvert and steal from the US is laughable. And it sounds like Biden will continue Trump’s crackdown on them. It is time to take the pain and break off our business relationships with them and bring manufacturing back to the US and let them try become a superpower without stealing from us.Which assumes that the smear campaigns against them were actually true.I'll wait for factual evidence rather than smear campaigns, and unproven allegations. All I hear are allegations coming from smear campaigns.Had the HongKong protestors did that here Chump would have mowed them down -- unless they were Proud Boys -- then he would have cheered them on.Very simply, we need to fix the problems here rather than distracting people with the holier than thou, "Look over there" nonsense. When the China Hater in Chief supports and incites racists, neo-nazis, misogynists and antisemitics to attack our democracy to install himself as a dictator it shows the hypocrisy of those who support him but attack others.Trump is out of office. Please move forward.FYI, Biden has already spoken to Xi about human rights abuses. Does this mean Biden is part of what you call the "smear campaign?"Edit: add BBC link (oops, same link as Crowley above) -
