25 years of Apple's innovation with iPod
I remember thinking the iPod was too expensive when it came out. My best friend had a Musicmatch Jukebox, and it had 20GB of storage instead of the 5GB of an iPod. It used 6 AA batteries, and was sort of like a thick portable CD player. Then I went to an Apple store and tried an iPod. I knew I wanted one after that, but I couldn't afford one for a couple more years. Then when I went to college, I got a 12" PowerBook G4 and it came with an iPod, too. Man, that was a sweet setup for 2004! I remember using the screen of the iPod as a flashlight when the power was out in my dorm. I didn't get my first cell phone until a year later, so the iPod was like my phone - something I took with me regularly and used to tell time, keep a basic calendar and notes, etc. -
HomeKit Smart doorbell with Face ID expected by 2026
sailorpaul said:Heat, heat, heat… if this doorbell can’t handle a south facing door location it will end up being a major black eye for Apple. I have TWO south facing doors in SoCal that are blasted by the sun. Dark gray doorbell cases often exceed 140 degrees (really, did nobody take thermal engineering ???)
I have been thru SIX doorbells that failed, One of the Aqara died this week. Plenty of power: 24V 40VA transformer. Great WiFi. Even tried painting eone case white. Sigh -
