Jack Dorsey apologizes for Twitter's fast growth, following Musk layoffs
welshdog said:I saw a lot of Tweets the other day with the #deactivate hashtag. Most of those posters were complaining that the Twitter system was not letting them deactivate their accounts. Unsurprising.
Twitter is losing $4M everyday so something has to change and Elon’s strategy will either fail completely or succeed completely.Jack’s statement fall flat - it’s easy to apologize with billions on the bank. -
Hands on with Apple's Freeform collaborative brainstorming app
dewme said:Microsoft’s OneNote had this capability at least a decade ago. It may still be in there. It did good demo but nobody on any team I’ve been on wanted to use it. Same deal with smart whiteboards. About the only thing that seems to maintain its appeal is real, physical white boards with someone coordinating and facilitating the sessions, not a bunch of people all writing on the whiteboard at the same time. the human to human interaction is key. The tool is secondary. I have high hopes for this just like I’ve had high hopes for everything similar. Let’s see if it gains traction.
I just think that most of these tools are designed the wrong way, e.g not focusing on integrations or a feature-set based on what the creators think their audience needs vs what is actually deemed important. Miro nailed that part. -

How does this stack up against Miro?
What I like about Miro is its integrations with and into other platforms, the huge amount of templates and the SSO authentication for the workplace environment.
If it’s anything like iWork, I fear no company or team is going to use it because it’s not designed with an actual workplace setting in mind, like GSuite is, which is quite extensive in how you can set up organizations, roles, domain and file management. This tool seems to be made for teams to collaborate so I was thinking whether Apple finally has made the overall infrastructure to go with the tool. -
iPadOS 16.1 review: imperfect preview of what's next
I appreciate AppleInsider’s review of iPadOS because it’s balanced and to me gives a good representation of this release.
I find Stage Manager to be unfinished and essentially exchanging the challenge of window management for ‘workspace management’. There are too many interactions and inconsistencies that will prove challenging for efficient production. But I also think that the model allows for room for improvement. Perhaps in iPadOS 17 we will experience a more thought-out, less janky version of Stage Manager.
