  • Cheaper Apple Vision headset rumored to cost $2000, arriving in 2026

Too expensive still. The “spatial computing” positioning doesn’t work. Nobody wears a VR headset to be productive in work.
It’s primarily an entertainment and educational device. Price and spec it accordingly I say.

I own both a Quest 3 and AVP (for work / development) and the AVP has no consumer appeal IMHO.

  • iPhone 16 review: Bold colors, new buttons, promises for the future

Nice review. A pleasure to read.

Going back to 60hz was very noticeable in that moving text and whilst I’m sure I could live with it , I don’t really want to now.

Which makes for a very painful / costly  iPhone upgrade path (16PM). Hence why Im dithering on getting a new phone.

The answer for me might be to wait for the 17+ which might have 120hz and not cost me a kidney!

The regular iPhone’s really should have 120hz screens by now as their Android counterparts in the same price tier do.
100% agree. I feel the 4.5 / 5 star is too generous in 2024 for a phone at this price point not offering 120hz, especially when you look at the competition. I have both the 15 Pro (personal) and the non-Pro (work) and the difference is staggering.

  • Hands on - luxe Hermes Apple Watch Series 10 in silver titanium

I could understand the jewelry proposition at its launch but with the thing being updated every year and being positioned for active lifestyle, tying this over-expensive brand to an Apple Watch is weird.

Rich folks would buy a classic mechanical watch with luxurious materials - a true jewel, and the average consumer would go for the cheapest watch - for its commodity. The two don’t really go together. Even Apple stopped emphasizing this jewelry positioning over time.

  • Europe demands Apple open up iOS for better accessory compatibility

Verstager is total moron. There is ZERO chance of Apple ever releasing its propriety OS for either the iPhone or iPad to 3rd party vendors.

I would agree, but that's not what's being asked of them. As I'm reading it, Apple/Google will have to allow 3rd party vendors to call on/use/access the hardware on an iPhone or Android phone, to facilitate connections.  This is not about installing iOS on some third-party product.
Finally someone who actually read the article and doesn’t respond with the default American “EU sucks! I love Apple like my mommy” reaction.

What the EU is asking is not to turn iOS into Linux.

What is happening right now will eventually happen in the US as well; allowing third party stores, allowing users to truly choose between vendors of services (e.g same access to APIs by iCloud, Dropbox, etc). It’s to allow for competition.

Don’t forget: Apple doesn’t operate in the market. They ARE the market now.
