  • Apple Watch Series 8's S8 chip may not be a big upgrade from S7

The Apple Watch is the true definition of a commodity product. You won’t unlock a whole lot of features with an updated processor or sensor anymore, until a more revolutionary update that happens every decade or so.

If your watch breaks, and you want a new one, you get the new one, but I’m not exactly holding off a purchase because the next watch will measure my penis length or make me aware of how fast I’m turning grey. The base feature-set is already there regardless.

  • Apple's relationship with web apps will improve in 2023

Forcing the use of WebKit is a privacy first issue - having multiple browser engines on iOS/iPadOS opens a can of privacy worms and  would create a whole slew of new attack vectors.
    No it does not.
You are just throwing around tech babble here without backing it up with facts.

Chromium is not less safe than WebKit or vice versa. Both are well maintained engines contributed to by many developers. Also, Chrome as an app still goes through Apple reviews and is still operating within the boundaries of the operating system’s rules and therefore inherits its security like any other app. It can’t “break out” unless there is an operating system vulnerability, which is Apple’s territory.

If people want to use Chrome - which is a great choice for enterprise users relying on Google services, why not let them? It’s their choice! If they want Safari, let them!

This is pure and simple the need by Apple to control as much as they can. E.g when WebGPU hits maturity and amazing games run right from the web, do you think Apple will want to allow that? Or rather see people go through the App Store? Right.
It’s money. Market share. Control. Same ol’, same ol’.

  • Early M2 benchmarks show clear CPU, GPU performance gains over M1

What’s equally interesting for video editors; there’s a media engine in the M2, so you don’t necessarily need a Pro for that.
That’s really useful (and powerful enough) for most editors on the go.

  • Apple passkey feature will be our first taste of a truly password-less future

    - What if I have multiple devices?
    - What if I lost my device?
    - Can I revoke passkeys from another device I own?

I'm all for a new standard, but in order for people to adapt to this, they need a bit more info that isn't too technical.
