Brazil fines Apple $1.9M for not including charger in iPhone 12 box
lkrupp said:Easy fix, just raise the prices of Brazilian iPhones to cover the cost of the forced inclusion of a charger. $50 ought to be about right.
”Because of the environment”, right?
Nope.To increase profits. As if Apple was “environmentally conscious” - selling desktop computers where the monitor and computer are glued together and render useless when one of the two breaks.
oh, and:
„Adapter not needed“
(includes a usb-c to lightning cable)
If anything, they make more electronic waste by including a cable that doesn’t work with the adapters most people Apple claims to already have 😅 -
Apple aggressively lobbies against Arizona bill that would allow third-party App Store pay...
I hope the bill succeeds. It’s time these giant tech companies and their lobbyist start to abide to free market values. These ‘stores’ are marketed as stores, but are in fact monopolist, world-wide gatekeepers to content distribution, especially Apple.
The irony is that ‘free market values’ made them so big to begin with, but with everything, there should be rules and measures in place to safeguard balance and competition. -
Portless 'iPhone 13' could restore iOS without needing a cable

'Sign in With Apple' target of Justice Department antitrust probe
I don’t understand the “I love Apple Sign In, this investigation sucks” comments.
Forget for a moment what YOU prefer and the why as an end-user.This is business level and market level. I haven’t thought of the reasoning from these developers yet, but they make a lot of sense. As flydog said:Antitrust law has nothing to do with privacy, and the fact that Apple furthers your personal interests doesn’t mean the justice system should ignore violations of antitrust and other laws.
