Why Apple is now focusing on users, not units in Fiscal 2019
Apple has a LOT of work to do on their cloud services if I want to be their ‘user’. Collaboration in Keynote is horrendous as a random example, but more importantly it’s impossible to setup teams and granular permissions when working together in different productivity apps.
They need to reach the professional audience again, instead of my mothers photos of her grandchildren. -
How to make the most of iCloud's sharing and collaboration tools
Apple’s productivity and collaboration tools are horrendous. As an example they are still stuck with Pages that’s essentially focused on making nicely formatted birthday letters no one wants. Instead Google Docs (which doesn’t have that) is actually a great multi-user productivity tool, as well as Team Drive and many of their other ‘instruments’ in the toolbox. Keynote is my favorite presentation software but collaboration is absolutely terrible. Numbers lacks any modularity.
Our entire company moved to GSuite and Apple could have taken that market if they’d only stopped focusing on lame consumer solutions, because those consumers have often grown into (semi-)professionals the last decade. -
Mac mini 2018 Review: Apple's mightiest mini yet
It’s extremely overpriced that it. No one wants 8gb internal memory and i3 for $799 so now they severely overcharge you with any upgrade (unless you buy your own memory but that’s about what you can do).
And whatever you pick, the onboard graphics remain extremely slow.
Is this the “pro” focus Apple was referring to? -
Initial 2018 MacBook Air benchmarks show modest improvement over 2017 MacBook
I just don’t get the new MacBook Air. Why not update the MacBook line and get rid of the Air altogether?
Besides this is not a very compelling product. Get a MacBook Pro 13” instead for just a bit more and have much more power available.
Ps: am I seeing this right - is the new iPad much faster benchmark wise? -
