  • Apple hourly workers feel helpless under punishing pressure & mistreatment

I have been seeing this for quite a while on Twitter.  There are a whole lot of fruit stand employees who are very unhappy.  Morale is low.  Anyone who has worked in retail knows it’s not always a pleasant environment.  Some customers can be so obnoxious and rude it’s unbelievable.  But these problems seem to extend far beyond rude customers.  There’s something really wrong with the management.  Tim Cook needs to reassess retail leader ship right now.

  • 'Apple Car' will disrupt auto industry, says Morgan Stanley

    They're nuts.

Sure, a few people are going to be fine not owning a car.  Most of those people already don't own a car today.  Uber is a thing, taxis are a thing, buses are a thing, you can have somebody else drive you around if you want.  And yes, autonomous taxis will be a thing.

But Americans at least are NOT going to give up on the concept of personal car ownership.  If you own the car, it's there when you need it, you have the freedom to make last minute plan changes.  And (this is really important) you can leave your stuff in it.  You don't have to worry about whether you left something in the taxi.  If you're going somewhere that you need more stuff than you want to carry into where you're going, you can leave the rest in the car and get it later if you need it.

The concept that Americans are going to give up owning cars is as crazy as the concept that most Americans would give up on owning homes.
Well, I agree with them that a vehicle without a steering wheel would likely be a shared service.  But it’s not clear that Apple will release a car without one, even if it is FSD capable.

Aah. The return of an old friend.  The “Fugly Car.”

I believe their take on a car without a steering wheel is on target.

  • Apple ramps up work on fully autonomous 'Apple Car,' targets 2025 release

Apple won’t build a car for sale; that’s a ludicrous idea.

They’ll make the chip, sensors, and SW and sell those to automakers, rather than making the car itself.

Follows the CarPlay model, leverages the relationships and contacts they’ve made with CarPlay, and doesn’t have NEARLY the cost of entry manufacturing a car themselves would entail.
And what fool of an automobile manufacturer would take up Apple’s offerings in those areas?  All that does is give Apple more leverage in the automotive market.  CarPlay - sure.  Anything do to with entertainment - sure.  Processors and sensors related to the basic functions of an automobile - not a chance.

  • Morgan Stanley expects Apple to be 'game changer' in Augmented Reality

I feel more compelled by AR than VR.

Factors like motion sickness and exclusion of the real world steer me from VR.

With AR I see more tangible possibilities:

Landmarks in cities and on-road directions.
Personal 3d concerts in my living room.
    Holograph-style virtual meetings.
Historical sites brought to life - taking you back in time. Education could be massive with AR.
I generally agree.  AR will see broad adoption by much of society.  I believe we’ll see a ton of use cases for this technology and one could probably write a small book on them.

VR will be a hit with gamers, a much smaller but still lucrative market.
