  • Apple reportedly in talks with Korea EV component makers for 'Apple Car'

After watching recent Musk videos and reading about Tesla and SpaceX manufacturing capabilities, I am beginning to think Apple’s strategy of outsourcing manufacturing isn’t the right move here.  Like Tesla, Apple is going to need to figure out new and innovative ways to manufacture major components of the vehicle.  The design team will need to work very closely with manufacturing engineers.  This would be done best internally to Apple.

After a few generations of AppleCar, Apple might consider handing over the technical data package for tooling and machining to a parts manufacturer.  But they are going to need to go through their own “production hell“ in order to figure some things out that suppliers are unable to do at the moment.

This is all speculative of course, since Apple‘s intentions are very unclear at the moment.

How are people just blindly accepting these vaccine passports? How is it that so few even question something that is so obviously absurd? The fact that they don't accommodate for natural immunity, which is *superior* to the vaccine 'immunity,' should be a clear indication that we're being manipulated. Not to mention the fact that they make no sense, since people 'vaccinated' with these gene modifying agents can still catch and spread covid. It's shocking how many people are accepting these 'passports' as somehow justifiable.
Listen to the science, science is absolute and no longer open to opposing views of the facts.
Hard to tell if this post is blindly serious or slyly sarcastic.  It is such an absurd statement that no credible scientist would ever say it with a straight face.  It’s emblematic of the self assured and over-confident “science believer.”

Those who have been paying attention know that the science is still out when it comes to the delta variant.  We can find lots of opinions out there from scientists and virologists and their views are by no means homogenous.  And why would they be, since precious little data exists on vaccine efficacy on the delta variant.  Yet here we are with the peanut galley jumping ahead and making claims one way or another.  It’s noise.

Automatically labeling others who do not share your views as anti-science is at best disingenuous.  At worst it is arrogant, hypocritical, and anti-science itself.

Not responding to you George.  Hugs and kisses. 🤪

There is no question that Covid-19 is a dangerous and often deadly disease (615K+ people in the U.S. alone dead from it). There is no question that vaccines protect those vaccinated from the risks of the disease to a very high degree. There is no question that masks are highly effective in limiting spread. There is no question that vaccines are safe and effective, and that the risk of severe side-effects from vaccines are orders of magnitude smaller than the risk of severe side-effects (including death) from infection. There is no question that the longer it takes to get everyone vaccinated, globally, the greater the risk that a new variant or strain will bypass vaccine-induced and natural immunities. And so on...

Anyone suggesting that we not listen to the scientific and medical experts, or follow their advice, on Covid-19 is speaking from either a position of ignorance or malignancy.
Oh man. Your sense of certainty with your repeated “there is no question“ statements belies everything else you said, which was waaaay too long.

That Covid is deadly to some is certainly true, but to say something like that as a general truth lacks nuance as it is not deadly to the vast majority of people.  Your biggest error was bringing up masks.  Decades of extensive studies have shown that regular masks are not effective against airborne viruses.  Only in the last 18 months did this become politicized.  It is truly rich that the people who point fingers at supposed anti-science people also claim that regular cloth masks have any efficacy with regard to airborne particles which pass right through them.  If you want to go ahead and wear a tight fitting N-95, then yes, it’s going to be reasonably effective.  But the masks everybody else is wearing is pure theater not backed up by decades of research and data.  That the government continues to push regular masks severely undermines their credibility  and suggests they have a serious messaging problem.

Be careful of your certainty.  It may trip you up.

  • Delta deploying iPad Pro as pilot electronic flight bag upgrade

What IT genius thought it was a good idea to deploy Microsoft Surface and Nokia Lumia equipment?  Was a payoff involved?  Cause I just can’t imagine someone being that clueless.

The correct decision. Or they could ask to see your Covid vaccination certificate in your Apple wallet with no need to wear a mask in the store.

Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from the virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.

The main purpose of vaccines is to develop herd immunity and eliminate a disease -- like we did with polio, smallpox and others.
But the anti-vaxxers and right wingers are causing the virus to spread and to mutate -- and will not only kill more thousands of Americans but they will likely take our economy down again as well.

They did it once.  They'll do it again.
(Which is fine by me:   I made a ton of money in the market as a result of their foolishness.  But, I'm greedy.  I want more!)

Meanwhile though:  A vaccinated person is much less likely to become infected and less likely to develop serious illness if they do.  Likewise they are far less likely to infect others.   But nothing is fool proof.
One: According to media reports it is not just anti-vax people that are causing the virus to spread.  Those that have had two shots of the vaccine, apparently, can also spread the virus.  I make no claim that this is true or false.  But it is what has been reported.

Two: COVID did not take the economy down.  It was, IMO, a deeply irrational government response to COVID driven by a public drowned in media hyped fear and the need of politicians to be seen to be doing something, regardless of how much sense the proposed responses made or how much damage they would inflict on businesses, local communities, peoples  livelihoods, and their physical and mental health.

Three: While significant evidence exists to say that vaccinated individuals are less likely to develop serious complications of COVID infection, much less data has been gathered regarding those who have already been infected and their susceptibility to any new variant.  Many who have already had COVID are wrongly included in the derogatory anti-vax category, which is unhelpful to decision makers and alienates many.  Thus far, few institutions have conducted extensive studies on this.  A new Lancet study has shed some light on this and the data are encouraging.  But more data and studies are needed.

Four: The circular logic of those who are pushing everyone to be vaccinated, coupled with insulting and condescending remarks towards those who are hesitant to get what is still an experimental vaccine, is not going to win hearts and minds.  It is a misguided campaign  destined to lose.  In the US almost everyone who has wanted the vaccine has been vaccinated.  This should be seen as a great success.  But now it’s time to move on and let everyone else live their lives as they choose.
One:  That's typical bullshit using a false equivalency.   The right uses the technique frequently.
Two:  More bullshit.  The response was not too much.  it was too little.  Other countries responded with strict lockdowns, testing, tracing, mask mandates and other mitigation efforts and their people and their economies did well.  We didn't do too much.  We did too little and did it badly.  But now, with the vaccine, we have a way to save our sorry asses.
Three:  Even more bullshit.   You spin in circles.  You defend antivaxxers because there isn't a lot of data on the infectiousness of those who have been infected?  Weak.
Four:  And even more bullshit.   It is not an experimental vaccine.   It had extensive testing and now it has been tested in hundreds of millions of people.   It's safe and it works.

The fact that your feeling are hurt when people call bullshit to your bullshit is your problem not ours or that of our government.  Rather it's why we need mandates.  You and your delusions are a threat to the people of this country and its economy.
As usual, you are impervious to new information, and like others here you resort to crude insults in your reply, which makes one wonder about the cogency of your thoughts.  Silly of me to expect better I guess.  Did you read the WaPo article?  Did you understand it’s implications?  It seems not.  But I’m done.  You have you opinion.  I have mine.
