Apple needs to find to its roots again, even it will not be Wallstreets darling anymore.
As ive once said "WE ( meaning Apple) have ideas for products, but, technology had not caught up.
I think Apple has a problem in the software front because real good young talent Will want to start their own Apps to make those Zuckerberg riches.   The latest revision to the Apple Podcast app just isn’t very exciting.
I agree that Apple could do much better on the software side. I won't speculate about the reasons (for Apple specifically). Software is tough. In some ways tougher than hardware. But Apple could definitely use an infusion of energy, vision, creativity, and "envelope-pushing" on the software side.
This is where UX, graphic and industrial designers need to lead most software engineers by the nose.  While software engineers can code up a storm, few are equipped to design a compelling user interface.  They simply don’t have the skill set.  That’s not to say that no software engineer anywhere possesses these talents.  A few SW rockstars do.  But they are few and far between.

    Apple employees need to unionize.

And having employees who sit at a computer and code all day going into an office, no matter how nice, is idiotic.  These jobs could be done from home decades ago, there's absolutely no reason to force people back into offices ever again, let alone when the pandemic is not over.

That might be true if all everyone did was code.  But Apple is comprised of people with many different skill sets.  Software engineers need to work with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, test engineers, graphic designers, and industrial designers, to name a few.  Zoom calls can’t replicate the face-to-face needed to create the next compelling product.

  • Apple extends share buybacks by $90B, raises dividends by 5%

I’m waiting for the ‘innumerati’ to chime in on how share buybacks are like throwing money in the fireplace. 😆

  • Apple hires labor-busting lawyers to fight employees' efforts to unionize

$30 dollars an hour to work in retail? You’ve got to be joking. If you want to make that kind of money, learn a skill besides operating a cash register and tidying up shelves.
Exactly, this type of work is a steppingstone. I worked at computer retail stores in my younger year and they always paid minimum wage, we were all college students and were proud to work there. Apple is a much better environment, pay, and benefits than any BestBuy or Microcenter.
A number of fruit-stand employees on Twitter have said they don’t see a good path for career growth and upward mobility within the organization if you start as a retail employee.  The impression retail employees have is that Apple is a two tiered system of employment, one for retail and one for everyone else.  I can’t speak to the truth of this personally, but if the retail employees have this impression that’s not good.

One might assume that Apple has a program that assists with employee education.  Maybe a greater focus needs to be put on retail employees that have an interest in advancing their careers within Apple.

Why? I would just fire the trouble makers or cut their hours or shift to commission pay as I am sure none of the unionizers are any good
That is a federal crime and if you did it as flagrantly as you suggest at the very least you would soon have no business. Possibly you'd be doing time. That is very much against federal, and many state, laws.

This is seriously uncool TC. This will come back and bite Apple in the @$$ later on by damaging the brand.

I have an idea, instead of spending millions to thwart unionization efforts, why not put that money into improving salary and working conditions? Unions are a response, not a goal, happy workers don't unionize.

“Happy workers don’t unionize.”  Bingo!  This is not just about monetary compensation.  Management is creating a toxic work environment for enough fruit stand employees that they are willing to unionize.
