  • Hands on and benchmark testing of Apple's 2019 iMac 4K

I have to agree with those here that are against using what has to be the worst possible choice for storage -- a 5400RMB 2.5" hard disk drive in what most people think is a top tier brand.

Think about it people...how much does a 128GB SSD cost today?  At the quantity Apple buys at, probably $20 or less.  How much do you think that 5400RPM dinosaur costs them?  What is the difference in price?  Not $100 like some are suggesting Apple would have to increase the retail price to cover the cost increase.

And, 5 years from now?  That 5400RPM drive will SUCK BIG TIME.

Apple sells Macbooks w/128GB as the standard model ALL DAY LONG.  It's a crappy business model, if you ask me, to sell a product that cannot be upgraded over time, but that is the choice people make when they buy Apple.  So, either pony up ridiculous amounts of money to upgrade to 256 or 512GB, or be happy with 128GB SSD and add external storage.

Apple should be ashamed to sell a 5400RPM non-fusion drive in a 2019 product.  Hell, they could probably eat the $20 for the 128GB needed for Fusion drive in the $1099 price tag and at least make Fusion the base model.

  • There are now more paid streaming TV watchers than cable subscribers

Since these results don't take into count the households that have both cable/satellite AND a streaming service or two, the reality isn't what the article makes it out to be.

I believe the majority of cable/satellite households also have Netflix, etc., but their primary watching is done via cable/satellite.  If the point of the article is to say more people stream than use cable, then it's not really so.

  • Apple's video service could sell networks like HBO & Showtime for $9.99 each

Makes ZERO sense whatsoever. These services don’t have enough to offer at the prices they already demand, nor at $9.99.

$9.99 for HBO + Starz + Showtime would be reasonable and compelling.

This, however, is laughable and makes tomorrow seem like it’s shaping up to fall flat on its face. And frankly I hope it does. Apple is in a delusional place these days.
You‘re nuts. I and millions others will sign up for HBO next month — as Game of Thrones returns. The beauty of these services is you can turn them on and off.

But you hate everything Apple does, got it. Fail, Appe, fail. Yada, yada. Yawn.
Actually, he is not nuts.  So you pay for HBO for 2 months so you can watch what is probably the only content worth anything on that network, then cancel?  Why, then, would Apple do this?  So people can pay for 2 months, then nothing for 10 months?  I don't believe that is what Apple has in mind.  They want 12 months.  And at those prices, it's no value, but then, is anything from Apple really a good value?  This new "offering" from Apple is just way #38 to get HBO/Showtime/Starz.

Apple has been "working" on this tech for several years now. In fact, this patent was filed in 2015.

This is my idea of real wireless charging. Setting a device in a fairly specific location to charge is less then ideal, in fact it's worse than wired charging, because at least you can still pick the device up and use it while it's charging.
Not so with the Magic Mouse, where Apple, in their infinite wisdom, decided to put the Lightning charge port on the BOTTOM of the mouse instead of at the head so you can still use it while it's recharging.  The product of highly paid engineers.
The comment of highly uneducated bloggers.
Which part of my comment is untrue?  None of it.
