The macOS Sonoma 14.4 update is breaking printers for some users
No problem with an Epson WF-3620 attached via a 10 year old USB hub to a MBP 14" M2 Pro, using macOS 14.4 (downloaded early this morning). No problems with a 24" Lenovo monitor attached by HDMI. No problems with two iPod Classics (attached via a USB hub). Update from 14.3.1 seemed to take longer than several previous updates, but otherwise, nothing to complain about. -
Another factory-sealed original iPhone hits the auction block
Wonder how willing an insurance company would be to part with $100k+ after a fire or tornado loss? Most policies have limits for home contents. Most safety deposit boxes have similar limits, and may not cover losses of collectables. I'd be afraid to have something worth this much at home. Some collectables have lost value after they were purchased. Imagine a grandchild opening and damaging or misplacing the unit. -

Echoes of launches past: Tim Cook likens Apple Vision Pro to iPhone launch
I can remember Steve Ballmer of Microsoft saying the iPhone would never be successful, since it lacked a keyboard.
Instead, both Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer were shown the door at Microsoft by the largest holders of Microsoft stock.
Intel was not interested in manufacturing chips for the original iPhone. How did that work out for Intel?
H. P. opted not to build Macs, and chose to continue with minicomputers. How many of those are they building today?
