  • Magnetic cables were a sleeper hit at CES 2024

Are these safe around external disks, SSDs, storage cards, and similar devices?  Maybe 10-20 years ago, folks could end up corrupting floppy disks, tape cartridges and other magnetic media with a misplaced magnet.  Would seem more economical to use cable ties (either velcro or one-time plastic, or in a pinch, old bread bag ties).

  • Apple Board of Directors shuffle sees Al Gore & James Bell retire

Many feel if Al Gore had been President, 9/11 would not have happened.  Bush Admin. was advised to carefully watch threats from Middle East, which they failed to do.  What a FUBAR of an administration.

  • Withings BeamO is a 4-in-1 checkup device that does more than take your temperature

Wonder if this violates Masimo (or anyone else's) patents?
Or maybe they pay a license fee.
Looks like Masimo W1 is in a watch format.
BeamO looks to be a larger, rectangular unit.
Interesting device, wonder how accurate for general use?
Noticed it is not yet FDA approved.

  • Clicks brings a physical keyboard to your iPhone

There were multiple non-Blackberry phones with keyboards until a few years after iPhone launch (Jobs even displayed them at the iPhone announcement).
Clip on mini-keyboard would be perfect for Steve Balmer, who famously said iPhone would fail because it lacked a keyboard.

I'd still rather use a laptop, or perhaps attach a full size (or at least somewhat large) keyboard.
Another option could be a conductive stylus (emulates conductive nature of a fingertip), if you just want a smaller fingertip.
May be able to use an external portable or foldable screen if you want more screen space.

  • What to do if your iPhone 15 is peeling on the edge of the back glass

Big fan of heavy duty cases.  I've been a klutz dropping phones back to the Motorola flip phones, and even before that, with pagers.  Granted, those early devices were a lot less expensive to replace.  The pagers came with alkaline AA batteries that were frequently discarded as they drained (generally, several times a month, if not more).  Never had to replace or repair a device due to breakage.  Probably wouldn't even see or care about issue in picture with a case.
