From the wikipedia article about RCS it looks it will be the new standard and that Apple should support it.

Backblaze, Dropbox, etc.. Every time you perform a local backup in the privacy of your own drive, it syncs automatically to the cloud. As simple as plugging in to charge.

No, iCloud is deeply integrated into iOS – no other cloud service has any chance to backup your settings neither you will be able to restore your iOS device from anything other than an iCloud or iTunes (or macOS Finder) backup.

I don't believe anything Apple tells about privacy until image scanning (CSAM) on the device is finally declared to be dead. 

Users should be able to load apps from alternative App Stores.
I guess that most users will stay with Apple's App Store, but it would make possible to use apps that have been banned by Apple or don't comply with some terms (like emulation).
If Apple makes this right (apps signed with a certificate and sandboxed) it should also be secure (beside from bugs in the sandbox).

For reasons I and others have related elsewhere, not only is it not "impossible for any government to hack it," it seems probable that some government somewhere will, in fact, hack it.

Just get informed about what Pegasus was able to do with any iPhone by just sending a sms – this should be fact enough ...
