Maybe I’m just an old fart, but I can’t help but think how stupid the testers are when considering their own safety. Putting all that stress on thumbs and fingers adjacent to a glass surface made me cringe. When shattering, tempered glass like this can produce really sharp shards. Gloves would’ve been prudent. 

I also agree. It would be great if you could operate an AirTag for a set number of hours accompanied by your phone to enable it to be used for Theft detection. This could be see it at a long enough interval to prove that you own the device and where it’s placed. 

I really enjoyed this article. I’m not an artist, but the new iPad Pro with M4 looks like the replacement for my MacBook Pro 13inch 2016.  Pretty well all the Apps I use are now available on iPad OS making the change possible. I see the M4 as a good future proof option in regards to AI and the ssd in the MacBook is starting to get bad sectors so will probably die fairly quickly anyway.

You are a little judgmental with this statement. Access is restricted because it is a national park. The roads are for getting into camping and tramping areas. They are not four wheel drive adventure roads. Closure is commonly due to logging trucks operating or fire danger for the forests etc.  There are many reasons to be travelling at night. For example, being late off a several day tramp and needing to travel home.  Unfortunately the two girls didn’t make it home. 

Interesting issue that sounds similar to a problem Garmin has with the BMW Nav VI designed by Garmin for BMW motorcycles. It has resulted in multiple replacements for many owners. Ultimately, the only fix involves screen replacement and BMW has dropped the Garmin product for its current new bikes. Although Garmin is still covering the unit under warranty.
