Apple Arcade is a joke. 

Name a competitor that you prefer that costs $4.99 for a family subscription. These kinds of comments are made every time something about Apple Arcade comes up, but they make no sense relative to the market that actually exists. AAA games on consoles and PC still cost $60-$70 a pop for a reason.

Apple Arcade is at such a low bar that it being $4.99 for the family isn't an indicator of quality. It just means that the games are shit. The games I would be interested in, are on better platforms, where they look good, on a large screen, with better controls.

It would have harmed users by depriving them on what they have paid for with no recourse. But continue to defend a 2 trillion dollar company threatening to delete access to user accounts as ammo in a company vs company lawsuit. I'm certain you're bound to get a $5,000 Apple Store credit one of these days.

That is what the developer fee is for. Every developer pays Apple "their share". This functions exactly as Netflix does in terms of paying Apple "their share". A launcher is downloaded from the App Store, Netflix or xCloud. That's it.
Do you cry that Netflix doesn't pay Apple "their share" anymore now that Netflix doesn't allow subscriptions through the App Store? Will you demand that Apple kick Netflix out of the App Store now?

I refuse to believe you two are this clueless. Do you two believe that Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, and Pandora have "complete" and "full control" over iOS? Are you two trying to compete on how utterly ignorant you can be in your comments? Or is your hatred of any company that is not Apple completely blinding you?

These apps are simply that, apps. Microsoft isn't asking for an xCloud app screen between the widgets view and the first home screen. They're not asking for a control center toggle to launch xCloud baked into iOS 14. They're asking to be able to put one app into the store, that allows you to stream Halo, Gears of War, and other games without downloading an app for every game. How do you get that Microsoft and Google demand "full control" when they want to put xCloud and Stadia into the App Store without 4038934893 different apps for each game? 

These apps aren't even doing anything special, they don't require deep iOS integration to work. They render a video, and have inputs for users. Netflix, but with more options than just fast forward and play/pause. Did you two scream and cry about Netflix when it came to the App Store? No, you didn't, because Netflix wasn't constantly being crapped on by Apple. 

I thought that xCloud and Stadia and Geforce Now were finally going to be available, but nope. This cements my desire to leave the platform. Apple is locking down options beyond superficial ones that are years late. Browser choice should have been something available 10 years ago. I don't see why browser choice even matters though, as they're all Webkit browsers with a different UI. Apple Silicon will continue the lockdown efforts on the desktop and laptop lines. It's already difficult providing multiple versions of programs on x86 between Linux, Mac, and Windows, but providing x86 and Apple Silicon will deprive Macs of even more programs. And no x86 means no Bootcamp, so you're fully dependent on Apple and 20 other developers for whatever you need. 
At least my AirPods work perfectly with my new phone, so that's nice.
