Hurting users is literally what disabling Sign in With Apple would have done. It would have stolen money from users if they decided to commit with the threat. It would kill user faith in the system and would have been even more ammo for the courts.  

Apple is stealing money from their users.
If you signed up through Apple, then bought V-Bucks through the App Store, and never created a full Epic account for use with other devices. You're screwed. Apple disabling Sign in With Apple leaves these users with nothing.
This is incredibly screwed up for Apple to do this, and completely sours me on the service knowing that if Mozilla gets their developer certification cancelled for whatever reason, my Firefox account is gone along with my Pocket account.
What a boneheaded move from Apple, this move only harms the users of the app, not Epic.

I’m 1000x more supportive of lowering App Store fees than Facebook being able to better spy on people.

Can't copy something that never released. Whatever happened to cancel Airpower, Apple was the one that announced they were working on it. Apple had the chance to be first with it but they couldn't figure out out to solve their issues. Other companies have had, is it three years now, to create something that Airpower promised. If Apple wanted to be first in this market then they shouldn't have announced it before they knew it was ready.

So uh, what's the credit history difference between Mr. DHH and his wife? Is his name on everything of theirs? Is he the breadwinner of the house? Does his wife have a full career or is it a small part-time job? From a quick glance at his Twitter bio he's a pretty successful businessman, so I would be surprised if she isn't more of a stay-at-home-mom/works for fun type of woman because of no need for two full careers in the home. There are many reasons for why different credit limits could be given out. That his immediate for this was "muh Apple and Goldman-Sachs are SEXISTS!!!!" doesn't make me view him kindly.
