  • Police, GreyShift struggle to keep iPhone unlocking tool purchases secret

So does this basically confirm that law enforcement is now able to unlock/access locked IOS devices on the latest firmware?

If so, this is no bueno….

I understand the argument for their need for access, but past behavior shows that it has been and will continue to be abused. I don’t see how LE is allowed to just go thru my device without a court order. I equate it to having my house and personal records searched without any oversight.

  • Microsoft embraces Mixed Reality future with Microsoft Mesh

If they support AutoCad and Revit/Bim software output, with seamless, intuitive integration to CAD/BIM software suites, this would be incredibly valuable to me.
I’ve been toying (with varying degrees of success), with using InsiteVR but it’s too time consuming to be a marketable & profitable service.
I would love to send a Dropbox link or whatever to a client, and a cheap cardboard headset that they can slip their smart phone into, and have an immersive walk thru of the designed spaces. Doesn’t need to be super fancy, just needs to function easily as most people aren’t tech savvy enough to make something like this work without too much hassle.

That would be a huge game changer/money maker for me.

Unfortunately I don’t see being able to send clients stand alone & proprietary headsets or have them purchase outright considering they’ll likely never use them again. Unless I ask for them in return, which sounds impractical to me.

Anyways, any progress & competition in this field is good for all.

  • Australian regulator accuses Google of spreading news law misinformation

Will be interesting to see how this plays out for Australians. We should all be concerned about how News is created and distributed these days.
The USA conglomerate model has pushed me further towards more independent outlets, which is a hodgepodge ranging from journalists doing some great work all the way down to the tinfoil hat crew.
I wish all the anti trust talk would focus on these media companies. Those clips of different news stations all spouting the same talking points/lines, down to every word, are a bit off putting.

  • Touch ID comeback for 'iPhone 12' rumors resurface

I can’t think of a single time when Apple sources a security technology that was already being used in another vendors phone. So seriously have my doubts about this one.
I could see apple designing their own version of under the screen finger print reader, that will have to be magnitudes better than anything anyone else has, otherwise they’ll just stick with Faceid.
I do think the rumor on the smaller notch may have some validity.

  • 'iPhone 12' likely to ship in the same timeframe that the iPhone X did

I love those renders, here’s hoping the bring the iPad Pro aesthetics to the 2020 iPhone line up, and not just the iPhone pro. Seriously considering upgrading, depending on features. Not sure if I wanna spring extra $$ for the Pro model yet.
