I considered getting a Tile because of the broader compatibility and I switch between iPhone and android use. Glad I never did though. 

Remembering how secretive Apple used to be, even more so than today, this doesn’t surprise me. This was clearly so the software developers wouldn’t know what the hardware looked like. 

I would guess this is unlikely to actually happen, I don’t like the notch on the phone but I also don’t notice it in day-to-day use. I don’t think this is likely because we already have the iPad in several different versions with Face ID and no notch. a notch doesn’t make any sense in the form factor of a tablet or laptop. 

I'm willing to bet that the class action suit agains Google's Play Store ends the same way. These aren't organic lawsuits, class action suits are started by lawyers who find some perceived wrong doing and then go looking for people to sign on as plaintiffs.

Both Apple and Google are being portrayed as the bad guys despite the fact that they are both offering services that benefit the developers far beyond the costs that they charge.
