    The president has some tariff powers in certain situations. 

    But not the tariffs and situation he tried to use. They were not legal, plainly and simply. 

    Inevitably it'll be appealed to a higher court and, if there's fairness and legality, the block will be upheld.

    Nixon's party of law and order, fiscal responsibility and small government has been completely co-opted by a conman.  Voters have put this party in charge of the Executive and Legislative branches, and the fact that most members of the judiciary hew toward this party's views means the President can do whatever he wants.

    When is this fat imbecile going to be stopped? He's trying to single-handedly destroy the US and its businesses, while making as many people as possible suffer, just to appease his inner pschyopath.

    Whether his rationale is mental illness, utter stupidity and ignorance, or malevolence, has stopped being relevant. He needs to be stopped asap, and his issues can be addressed later.

    Goes without saying that you have to take the claims of a compulsive liar and imbecile with a significant pinch of salt, though.

    I imagine Cook said something vague like 'We have always been committed to investing within the US' and trump just heard 'Sir, I love you! I'd do anything for you! I promise we'll commit a squillion bazillion dollars to spending, because you're so awesome.'
