  • Apple releases macOS Supplemental Update with iCloud, Wi-Fi fixes

    pyrrho said:
Not showing up in Software Update. In every previous instance that I can recall, Apple has also posted the update as a publicly-available standalone updater. Smells like this wasn't verified and both AI & 9to5Mac both jumped on a bogus report -- did anyone from AI independently verify this?
Did you read the forum posts above yours? Link posted.
That's a really convoluted series of links:

Land on the News and Updates page

Click the macOS Catalina 10.15.6 (19G2531) link, log in with a developer account and land on the Beta Software Downloads page

Click the Release link to switch to the Software Downloads page

Click the Download button next to the macOS Catalina 10.15.6 (19G2531) entry to open the App Store to the Catalina full installer.

I'm not interested in doing a clean install right now, so I'll wait for the updater to appear (if it does) on https://support.apple.com/en_US/downloads

  • Coronavirus may slow 'AirPods Pro Lite,' 2020 iPad Pro launches

Airpods Pro is a bit of a mouthful, Airpods Pro Lite (or maybe, AirPods Pro Lite = APPL for investors only?) just sounds ridiculous. Also, since Lite is a sort of antonym for Pro, surely these are just new non-pro Airpods?
Only one problem with that theory: Apple trades under the symbol AAPL.

  • watchOS 6 for Apple Watch is now available to download

I updated my Series 3, no sound level complications or app.
I’m on a Series 3 as well, and don’t see the Noise app.

Edit: Turns out the Noise app is Series 4 or later

  • Apple releases updates for iOS 12.3 with TV app additions

Unfortunately, the TV app in 12.3 rather badly breaks video metadata for TV shows and Movies synced to an iOS device from a Mac via iTunes.

Series descriptions and episode descriptions are gone, as are air dates.

Worst of all, TV episode and movie play counts and dates are not updated when you finish viewing.

I rely heavily on play count and play date information in Smart Playlists to schedule my viewing.

So, word of warning: if you rely on play counts and dates of synced content, don't update to 12.3 yet.
