Wired CarPlay vs. wireless - the pros and cons
Wireless CarPlay has been working flawlessly in my 2021 BM x5 (btw, so has digital car key on iPhone and Watch), but I still wish Apple would create a better UI. Current display is so cartoonish. Let me choose color schemes. BM has a charging pad that works fine but it is hidden down in the console. With every new iOS update I make certain to delete both my iPhones from CarPlay and then add back from scratch. This might be why I have not had any issues with Car Play. -

Sonos Era 100 & Era 300 speakers coming soon
Yup, am still hoping for a great set of Sonos headphone (not as heavy as AP Max), but am interested in any new speaker Sonos releases. I own 14 Sonos speakers and absolutely love the sound/looks/set up and as much as I like Apple stuff, I would never even consider HomePods over Sonos. A few years back there were rumors of Apple wanting to buy out Sonos. I feel badly for the Apple exec who did not finalize said rumor cuz a product line of “Apple Sonos” would have been a great move. I will keep one or two HP minis just for SmartHome voice control, but my Sonos are here to stay and worth the investment. Like Apple, Sonos customer support is superb. -
Apple has two big CarPlay problems
I really like using wireless Car Play in my BM, especially Maps which is always more up to date than BM OEM navigation. But there seems to be a volume level issue with Car Play and I do not like the cartoonist/Disney-like icons/colors displayed when Car Play is in use. Wish I had more options to change icon sizes, colors and background display. Guess Apply wants Car Play images to really stand out just like their refrigerator white-only Airpods.
