  • White House set to entirely ban TikTok from App Store

ByteDance is a propaganda machine for the Chinese Govt and everything going on in Xinjiang - are people so blinded by their dislike of Trump that .....

Are you so blinded by Trump's hate of China?
Are you aware of China's hatred of the US that goes back before Trump's presidency? The US isn't the only country looking to ban TikTok as well... get off your anti-Trump soapbox and open your eyes to ByteDance being a contributor to mass-murders. The idea that this company is being defended baffles me - this ban should happen regardless of who's in office. It would be absurd if Biden wins in November and removes any potential ban that would be in place.

Does Trump have any more evidence for that nonsense than he had for his Huawei nonsense?
So the genocide in Xinjiang is nonsense? Even the Washington Post acknowledges it and calls out both BtyeDance and Huawei as contributors to the censoring and monitoring of Uighur Muslims on behalf of the Chinese Govt...
This is not about genocide and how terrible the Chinese government is...

The toddler-in-chief doesn’t care about humanitarian reasons so let’s tell the truth...

This is about how Tik-Tok users destroyed his “MAGA” rally in OK and like a kid wants to be vindictive and prevent it from happening again before elections.

  • Virginia launches first COVID-19 exposure notification app in US using Google-Apple API

What a clusterf***. My idea was that ONE app would be used globally. They're separated by states? Are all states mandated to have one? What if I travel?

    Thanks Google!

The conspiracy theory crowd has been feverishly working to paint contact tracing as some fiendish government control project. There are posts on the Apple Discussion Forums from individuals who are outraged that the API even exists on their iOS device. They demand it be removed. When told the API does nothing until an app is installed that uses it, they become even more enraged. I can’t wait for the twaddle that will be spread around when a vaccine is approved. Want to know why the virus is spreading in the U.S.? Look no further than the kooky conspiracy boneheads. And by the way, George Bush ordered the New Orleans levies blown up just so Katrina could take out the black population. That one is still around as well as Building 7 and the faked Moon landing.

The only thing that's real is Google using this opportunistically.
ONE app globally? Really? Have we achieved world peace?

They can’t agree at city or county level imagine GLOBALLY...

The states are not required to have one they can keep ignoring the API like they have been doing.

What if you travel? Good luck!

The issue is that the apps using the API need an agency or medical facility to control the data and give out these pins to finally add the positive result to the app. If they weren’t in charged and the iOS or android user have the ability to tell the app I tested positive for covid imagine how many a** holes would be reporting positive results just for “fun” making the API useless.

  • Eufy delays HomeKit update to implement HomeKit Secure Video

    sergioz said:
I don’t know why eufy would implement Secure video in iCloud because cameras shown in pictures have internal storage and every other cam they make has internal storage it’s free and works well. iCloud is not free and to connect your own cam, you must buy 200GB, these are motion cams, they don’t need that much storage. Eufy can work with home kit. Which is cool I guess. The entire line of security cameras was designed to work without external storage, but now they are adding iCloud storage it makes no sense?
Because it is a very good move for them to make their products compatible with HomeKit and HSV. Even if the cameras use a few MBs again customers will have the option to use the cameras on the system of their choice/liking. They aren’t killing external storage and forcing you to go iCloud. It is up to the user to choose which approach they like. The majority of Apple users will prefer the integration of all their devices within the home app.
I have right now 3-2C with HSV and on the eufy app as well. The system needs to be polish though because I want an option to disable eufy app because it gets crazy getting notification from both apps.

Now I understand the Logitech approach of disabling the circle app if you want to use HomeKit because currently you get notifications from the home app and eufy app. In the guide I have there should be a toggle to disable the eufy app but when I go to where is supposed to be is not there so maybe is still in the works.

Also eufy users with HomeKit and HSV be aware. If you reset eufy and delete the app. You can add directly to the Home app just by scanning the code on the homebase so it will work nicely only with the home app. BUT this is what I discover and its kind of a privacy flaw that needs to be fix. Lets say you delete the eufy app and you are working everything fine with the home app. Your friend/family member comes to your house and they are eufy users meaning they have the app on their phone and connect to your network. The eufy app will recognize the homebase on the same network even if it’s currently to the home app and it will add the homebase/cameras to that eufy app as well and if you are lucky like I was you will be in the same room and hear the confirmation “homebase was added successfully” but you dont have the app? Sooo it was added to the eufy app on the friends phone because it is connected to the same network. I try it on my Parents ipad and same thing. So if you want to try homekit secure video while they polish it just make sure you added in both places to prevent that nosy Friend/Family gain access to your indoor/outdoor views. Which during covid means views with lots of UW, out of control beard and out of control hair.

  • Southwest Airlines integrates Apple Pay for tickets, meals and more

I’ve spent the summer in a small town in British Columbia, Canada. I was shocked how many businesses, large and small, and customers use phone tap payments.  Restaurants bring a phone tap device to your table that even does tip calculations. And when I use my IPhone/Apple Watch pay, no signing bills.  You can even tap your IPhone at gas pumps.  I reside in Houston, Texas—4th largest city in the USA—and do NOT have that almost total access to IPhone payment options, especially the gas station, restaurants, take-out. Even big department stores don’t do any phone pay in Houston. Canada is very tech savvy, much more than most places in the USA from what I’ve seen. I love it!
Where you go shopping? Or get your gas from? I am from Houston and yes they do have NFC  at the pump specially new gas stations Try Exxon, Chevron, Buc-ee’s,

if you mean by “big department stores” Macy’s like stores yes, they take Apple Pay. JCP stopped back in April nationwide.

but if you mean “discount stores” like Walmart, that’s not happening after failing miserably with CurrentC and now seems they still want to stick with Walmart Pay

I get the feeling that they are tech savvy but the truth is that like Europe they have been doing contactless for years at least with cards. In the USA we are still getting these sort of hybrid cards now that have everything (mag strip, chip, contactless) delaying rolling out NFC payments.  Retail in general wont do it unless they are forced to,  remember including the chips on the cards in 2015? They just did it because of the “EMV liability shift” so they didn’t have any other choice than upgrade to EMV terminals.

Nice for Southwest moving into that direction, we need Apple Pay everywhere. When I travel to Europe/Asia I just use Apple Pay or at some train stations that I have to use my Barclay or BoA card with pin because YES we still haven’t  move 100% to chip/pin. So funny some cashiers are like wth I haven’t seen a card requesting a signature in years and have to hunt for a pen.

I wonder if Apple had to provide a state ID?
You still spicy about your id. 😂 This one is on you. You should have accepted that first offer. Probably Apple use their passport or passport card to open the twitter account. 🙃🤣🙃
