Philips Hue adds Matter support to existing bridges
🤦🏽♂️ I read through this article, thought cool I should go add the bridge to HomeKit, and followed the instructions. (You'll need to have an account linked btw.) The Hue app provides code for the bridge, and you can add that to the HomeKit app.
At this point I should have asked myself, should I do this, what additional benefits do it I get, and most importantly are there any repercussions... Once the hub is added, HK also adds all of the individual lights connected to the hub. So now I have a bunch of individual lights in the HomeKit Default Room, that are in some cases duplicates of stand-alone lights, and in other cases are individual lights from a group that was already setup in the Hue app.
So if you have everything setup already, then you probably do not need to try this out. Also, if you are in this duplicate lights situation, you can view the HomeKit Home Settings and remove one of the duplicate bridges, but be really sure you are removing the one that isn't already correctly setup. Its lights will all be in the Default Room, just ignore the hub's name which might include the word Default. 😉 -

Sabrent Thunderbolt 4 KVM Switch has 8K 60Hz support in a compact size
I have a Mac/PC setup sharing a display, and I'd love to use a KVM to handle switching place of the display controls. The thing tripping me up currently is the 60Hz limitation for the majority of switches. My current display is a 144Hz 3840x1600 LG UW with TB support. Previous switches I've tried that support this refresh rate drop the active connection, and then I find messy resized windows then I return to the other computer. -
Logitech K380 keyboard for Mac review: Fun colors, great feel, and inexpensive
I use a K480 myself, picked this model because of the ability to switch between a few devices. (Mac and PC) The selector switch is nice because you always know which mode you are in, and the slot at the top has been surprisingly useful. I nearly always have my iPhone in it, and when I'm using my Mac, the MX Master 3 I use on the PC-side can rest in the slot too. I've also put iPads in there and not felt like they were going to tip over. I generally prefer the super slim Apple keyboards too, but the multi-device functionality is hard to beat. (as is the slot) -
