  • Apple energy efficiency savings in 2019 could power 2500 US homes for a year

The report is only about Apple’s efforts last year, presumably. They have working on their carbon footprint for years. We can safely say that operations at Apple Park are noticeably more efficient than work done at older buildings.
Apple is also a company which is still physically growing.

Good job, Apple.  That represents 2 one-thousandths of 1 percent of all the homes in the US.  Or perhaps 5% of the homes of Apple employees.  Even one of the largest corporations in the world's best efforts represent less than a drop in the bucket in a world with 7.5 billion people.

Fascinating that you view Apple's partnership with the premier investment bank in the world as some sort of weakness.

Goldman Sachs became big and powerful because it is good at making money, for itself. That’s money not going to Apple.
Also, the strategic reason GS wants to enter the consumer market and get some of Apple’s brand cachet is that they understand that People are beginning to remember that they have been involved in a bunch of really shady stuff. These giant investment banks and private equity firms control far too much of our economic/political system.

  • 'The Joe Rogan Experience' to ditch Apple Podcasts, YouTube for Spotify

There is an opportunity for Apple here. Spotify isn’t really profitable, and its business model involves paying musicians tiny amounts for their work.  Their big plan is to take the money they have and spend it NOT on the artists that do the work?

Apple can really play the angle that Apple is the company for music and musicians, by spending a relatively small amount by their standards. Spotify might seem a giant now, but the company is quite fragile.

  • Apple closes all retail stores outside of China until March 27

The other thing to remember when we think about trying to lower demand on the healthcare system, is that places like hospitals, are normally at 90-100% capacity all the time. We have very little space for outbreaks of any kind. It is a major flaw in the system.
It doesn’t take a super deadly plague to put us in a position where doctors would be literally choosing who to save and who to let die.
